When I say "read", I mean read and fully comprehend the topic at hand. Not just look at the words, turn the pages and claim it's been read.

I dont think that is guaranteed. some will just become more fundamental christians, or jews, or muslim, or hindu , or agnostic etc etc
This website is an example of what else can happen to a person if they read the bible alot.

I think they would be better of learning ABOUT the bible, its formation for example, and the history of christianity. whilst seeking to be civil, kind, truthfull and tolerant of others. If they do this, they are destined to become atheist.

Are you sure you don't mean "study" ? And yes, I read and study the Bible daily. I read other books but I study the Bible. And no, it hasn't made me an atheist. On the contrary it has strengthened my belief in God.
Granted, before I began to study the Bible I was just sucked in like so many Christians by people who misrepresented or misinterpreted the Bible by their own ignorance. But that is neither here nor there. The fact of the matter is that since I have really studied the Bible I have learned that some things I was taught when I first became a Christian were not true.

Now that sounds like it would devastate me and I would become an atheist because I was supposedly lied to. But that is not the case. I was misinformed by people who honestly thought they were telling the truth. Now I find it in myself to correct those wrong theologies, first in myself and then in anyone who will listen. And I back up all of my discoveries with Biblical references.

No, my findings are not earthshaking or faith busting. They are really mostly minor subjects that would not confound the standard non-denominational Christian. They mostly contradict denominational doctrines.

So, do you study the Bible, read the Bible or just harp on others who say they do?

The Bible is and was written in the manner that is to keep the perverts out. In the Bible there are a great many paths leading in all directions. The true path is completely hid from the lost.

Most Christians today do not in any way represent Christ. They should not be lifted up as real Christians, are used as examples.

If that were true, then anyone who attends a seminary school would become an atheist, rather than become a member of clergy?

There are a lot of people who read and endlessly discuss the Bible. I'd guess that most of them are devout Christians who want to become closer to God through his Word.

YES - the religious leaders carefully choose the same passages year after year, and deliberately leave out 90 percent of what is there... the Bible clearly spells out how much you eldest daughter
is worth to sell to the church as a prostitute, clearly states that
women can only wear cloth that is made of a SINGLE type of
fabric ( ie Cotton/ployester or cotton/linen are forbidden ) and spells
out the punishment of death by stoning etc. for anyone who violates
these rules. The Bible clearly states that you must chop up a BULL, and cut out organs, and burn them on the steps of your church, etc. etc. and not one so-called christian I know follows
any of the LAWS OF THE BIBLE, but, they do " quote" other
so called laws that they are" told" are in the bible, and follow
these selected 1 / 10,000 th of the actual laws, religiously..

hmmm..... selective ignorance?

Read and BELIEVE The main world is believe and although I did not really see anything physical I felt something inside and Yes God is real. The Bible is history but very cut up into scriptures.
You pray to understand and you worship with believers and with your hearts and minds being open to comprehend God heals and opens your understanding. It is something you feel deep inside. It does not make sense it makes you know you have a creator who cares about you. You just do not question like when you are sick and you begin to feel better. That's GOD

**If christians where to read their bible, would they become atheist?

Yes, some would. There is stuff in there that i will not allow my children to read ,we skip over it. Only because too much explaining is necessary.

An Example.
Ezekiel 23:20
There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

Try explaining that to a six year old.
