In the Bible, Jesus ministered to the ill, the maimed, the sinners, the adulterers, the impure...the rejects of both Jewish and Roman societies.
In the 21st century, who would you expect Jesus to minister?

I say he would minister to same-sex couples, interracial couples, adulterers, heretics, blasphemers, etc. Why?

2000 + years ago, Jesus ministered to those society rejected. Today, he would minister to those our society rejects.

By the way, Jesus rejected those in power.

Desperado...what is Jesus, and your, mission?

With these answers in mind, that Jesus would minister to the rejected of society, why, then, would Churches continue to reject people?

Are the Churches, perhaps, rejecting people so as to provide Jesus with more to minister? Or less to minister in the Churches themselves?

Who is ungodly, the gay who rejects women, or the church that rejects him?

I think you are seeing something that tons of churches miss.

I heard a similar sermon other day about Heaven being a mustard seed. Seeds grow best in the dirt and fertilizer. We need to grow Heaven in the dirtiest, most needy places. That doesn't mean judging. It means shining the light of Heaven and making people's lives better regardless of what their sins are or whether or not they are believers.

Great question.
God bless

Yes, you're right. He would. And He would likely get the same response. But then again, He said that would happen.

"If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you." (John 15:18)

And

"Go in through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is spacious that leads to destruction, and many people are entering by it. How narrow is the gate and how constricted is the road that leads to life, and few are the people who find it!" (Matthew 7:13-14)

As long as the world loves its sin, they would reject Him again. But we see that happening every day. As I go out and witness as He did, I see people like you mentioned rejecting Him daily. It is because they don't see their need for a Savior.

Besides, when Jesus does return, it won't be as Savior, but rather, Judge. As it is written: "He will execute judgment on all people and convict everyone of all the ungodly things that they have done in such an ungodly way, including all the harsh things that these ungodly sinners have said about him." These people are complainers and faultfinders, following their own desires. Their mouths speak arrogant things, and they flatter people in order to take advantage of them." (Jude 1:15-16)

Jesus ministered to all of those people and He continues to do so......

He hung out with those
despised by society .Right Again.........

He did NOT reject those in power ....
Here's the proof : " ...render to Caesar the thing that are Caesar's... and to God the things that are God's " Matthew 22 :21
He was rejecting the system of things at that time...The Way it was done not the leader..
He also says to be obedient to authority check this out.."OBEY YOUR LEADERS AND SUBMIT TO THEM,FOR THEY KEEP WATCH OVER YOUR SOULS AS THOSE WHO WOULD GIVE AN ACCOUNT.LT THEM DO THIS WITH JOY,AND NOT WITH GRIEF,FOR THIS WOULD BE UNPROFITABLE FOR YOU."

You know that the very first sin comitted was the sin of disobedience.we have been disobediant since the beginning of time...But we can be forgiven of all sin past ,present and in the future by repenting, ACCEPTING the gift the opportunity to be forgiven of sins......Accepting Jesus is the best thing we can do to be free of all the burdens and sins of this life ,no matter what they may be..

jesus is still ministering to us in many ways, not by religion, thats a man made thing with man made rules ! He ministers ,quite simply through his word in the bible and invites us ALL to come to Him.He cares about the sinner and how BAD they are He hates the sin.,he cares about our soul and he wants us to turn from the things of the world that would prevent us from living with him in eternity ..we aren't angels or saints as some may freak out on .how can we be perfect ? We can't thats why Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of ALL OF OUR SINS. We all need to read the word of God ,attend a bible based church ,that TEACHES THE WORD OF GOD, .....Accept his forgiveness and start a new day ..Check it out. There are many churches (bible based ) that will help you understand.......Give Christ a chance .you owe it to yourself and to your eternal life..........

I think you are right, Jesus would minister to the homeless, the ill, the rejects of society... and to his followers.

I think Jesus rejected those in power because they had corrupted the commandments to their own purposes.

He would minister to the people that were rejected by society but not because those people where right but because they were doing wrong. Society is more excepting of bad people now days by making excuses for them but it doens't make them any less wrong. Jesus would minister to them to try to convince them to change their lives

Jesus ministered to those who had faith in him and who wanted to be healed and taught by him. He didn't minister to people *because* they were rejected; he ministered to them because they believed in him and they wanted him to. A number of these people were social rejects, yes. But the requirements were that they believe and desire, not that they be socially rejected.

Jesus "rejected" *some* in power. In other words, he did not minister to those who did not believe in him and who did not want him to. Judas was in a position of intellectual/educational power, and Jesus ministered to him. The Roman centurion whose servant Jesus healed per the centurion's request was in a position of political/military power, and Jesus ministered to him.

In other words, Jesus ministered to *people,* not types. And these people had the two things in common I mentioned: they believed, and they asked.

It is all really simple.

Jesus would minister to imbeciles like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. For it is the sick that need healing.

A doctor does not heal the healthy.
He would indeed minister to those on the fringes, the outcast, the downtrodden as he did over 2,000 years ago.

He would still minister to everyone who would listen and would be willing to accept His message of love and light. Even those in power. He may have rejected those in power, but they were still children of God in his eyes.

Jesus would minister to the hatemongers, the raciscts, the Meth heads, the homeless, the strippers, the dealers, and I'd think he'd go online..because he'd have his work cut out for him. Oh the masses.......
