As a Christian, I sometimes have a difficult time understanding the wording in the Bible. For that reason, I go to my father for traslation. He has studied the Bible himself, with others, and has listened to the opinions of other Christians who have studied it, for over 15 yrs. This is the answer he gave me, which I believe. "When Jesus returns he will come as low as the clouds. With him he will bring the souls of the Christians who have died. At this time their bodies will rise up from the grave and join their souls in 'the twinking of an eye'. Some Christians believe that Jesus will gather up the church at that time (take all the still living Christians) and others believe they will remain for awhile longer still trying to spread the word of God to the unsaved. All those left, Athiests, Satenists, and non-Christians, will remain for the 7 years of tribulation. At the end of the 7 yrs, Jesus will return all the way to the earth and wage a war against Satin. This is Arrmagedon.

he doesn't have a job, hangs out with a posse of ruffians, believes in love, would NOT support a war for power and profit - yes, He would see through the BS spewed by the warmongers unlike the most of you sheep who would see though it as well if you paid any attention to facts, would question the justice of our current economic system, and would clothe the naked and feed the hungry because what you do to the least among you, you do unto Him. I don't think you'd crucify him, but you would ignore him. You'd approve sending him to Guantanamo if people began to follow in his steps.

the crusades, deuteronomy, blah blah blah!

The crusades were over 600 years ago, and deuteronomy was written over 2500 years ago. Sorry people, help me out here? Who is committing violence in the name of religion, and who complains most about the stereotypes?

I have a friend that I've been trying to get to believe in God and Jesus Christ. She is kind of familiar with the religion, but is very resisent to believe. She doesn't think that a god who has all-mighty power could really let all of the suffering in the world happen. She is a very strong thinker and has amazing arguements that I don't have all of the answers to. She brings up sex, being gay or lesbian, poverty, war, peace, etc. I try to come up with answers to her questions, but somethimes I can't. She has been to church with me once, and I've been trying to get her to go to a bible study meeting with me.

I know that God wants me to bring her to him. If he didn't, I don't know how I could always be her friend. We have been though a large fight, and were fortunate enough to make it out still friends. She can be mean sometimes, even to me. She doesn't really like the all the people I hang out with.

Any ideas or verses that might help bring her to God?

Creationism stems from one non-scientific, supernatural belief: the Bible is from God. The rest is misrepresented science.

Why do people hate all Muslims because of some maniacs who are hiding behind Islam so they can mass-murder and kill many innocent people. Suicide is banned in Islam and the only person who can take away life is Allah. Do you really think that terrorists have the time to pray five times a day to Allah inbetween their bomb-making and plotting? To be honest I don't pray five times a day. I just believe in Allah and Prophet Muhammed and fast in Ramadan and don't eat pork. I think that's enough. Please no racist answer and non of that crap that racist people have had other people be racist to them. I've had lots of racist remarks made to me where ever I go. And I would never want to hurt someone else with remarks like that. I also don't go against the whole race if one person from that race has been racist to me. I have Christian, Hindu, Buddhist (sp? soz!) Atheist and Muslim friends, I'd never want to hurt any of them.

Funny how God showed up a lot when there were only a few thousand people on Earth, and all concentrated in one area. (I'm talking about the Bible.) You think he'd show up again now that we are 6 billion strong and destroying his creation and ourselves (his divine offspring), from all areas. Still have faith now? Kinda makes the Bible look like ancient fables written by Man to explain the wonders of the world. Why is the sun bright and the sky blue? Well, I think we answered those questions already.
