Why do people hate all Muslims because of some maniacs who are hiding behind Islam so they can mass-murder and kill many innocent people. Suicide is banned in Islam and the only person who can take away life is Allah. Do you really think that terrorists have the time to pray five times a day to Allah inbetween their bomb-making and plotting? To be honest I don't pray five times a day. I just believe in Allah and Prophet Muhammed and fast in Ramadan and don't eat pork. I think that's enough. Please no racist answer and non of that crap that racist people have had other people be racist to them. I've had lots of racist remarks made to me where ever I go. And I would never want to hurt someone else with remarks like that. I also don't go against the whole race if one person from that race has been racist to me. I have Christian, Hindu, Buddhist (sp? soz!) Atheist and Muslim friends, I'd never want to hurt any of them.

I'm sorry but I'm not racist I'm a muslim myself and I'm not playing the victim I'm just trying to find out why lots of people (on this site, when I'm out on the street, at school etc) make racist comments because I'd never do the same to someone else.

A lot of people confuse religion with culture. In Islam a woman has many more rights than a man and the Qur'an can be interpreted in many different ways. It is personal choice as to whether a woman wants to cover herself head-to-toe or just not. My father is British and my mum is Asian and she sure as hell wasn't hanged for marrying him.

I think it's fear. I remember in the 1980's similar feelings in london about the Irish, because of the IRA bombing campaign. You get evil crazy people everywhere, but at the moment there is a lot of publicity for Islamic fundamentalists, for obvious reasons. I know you and many muslims are as disgusted with the terrorists as anyone and all we can do is hope (and pray) that things will get better, for all of us.

Sorry to hear you've been the brunt of racism. I personally have witnessed racism so often towards my black and asian friends, it really is unbelievable that it is still taking place in today's world, sadly I don't see it ever going away. I think with the security fears in the Western world at the moment and the tensions between east and west has heightened mistrust between the 2. These racists have a fear towards Muslims in general as they naively think each and every one of you is a potential terrorist (rather than the small handful of fanatic fundamentalists ).

I think it is all because of misinformation and prejudice. Many people build their opinion upon uncompleted and unproved information. This is a general problem and it happens to all the religious or national groups. There is always some amount of hate towards any of them, thanks to some narrow-minded people. It is really sad that there is so much hate in this world, but it is optimistic that there are many people who don't hate anybody - whoever he or she is. I also have friends from different religions and I make no difference between them on the basis of their religion, just as I don't make any difference between people in general on the base of their religious orientation. If all the people made up their minds without prejudice, this world would be much better place for all of us. But we have to work hard to make this thing happen.

The terrorists are using a cunning ploy - by using Islam to justify their insanity they are making it easier to recruit new members into their cult, praying on the weak minded and disillusioned. They want us to hate Muslims so that those who feel marginalised will hate us (non-muslims) back and want to sign up.
Mind you, I haven't seen much activity among the Islamic powers that be to denounce and route out the little blighters from among their ranks, it's only MI5 and the police who seem to be doing anything (for which they get a bad rep - prevent mass murder and people call them heavy-handed, they just can't win!)

if someone threatened your life and that of your kids you might hate them too. if muslims want to change this then they will have to inspire a lot more confidence in the rest of the world that they are not a threat. it is a natural reaction to be defensive when threatened.
i grew up in n. ireland throughout the troubles and it was the same here. fear breeds hate and contempt. i know people who went to London say 25 years ago and when the market stall owners heard their accent they pushed them away saying that they did not want the likes of them there. this came from fear of bombings. it is the same thing. the only way trust can be rebuilt is when the terrorism stops

I am proud to say that I don't have any muslim friends and neither would I want any. Islam is a cult of repression, hate and loathing, muslims hate anything that vaguely resembles western civilisation. Muslims cause the friction themselves, the whole lot are fanatical, they hate Christians, Jews and any other religion that may "polute" their so called pure form of worship to some semi-paedophile pervert who founded Islam in the first place. If you have a problem with the English, Christians or Jews, you know what to do - get out of our bleeding country, go back to your own cesspits and kill each other there.

my sister in law is Muslim like you she only does Ramadan and not eat pork and i know some of her friends that live here they don't go round dressed in blanket from head to toe and like living here and respect our rules so i does wind me up when people think all Muslim are here to get the money of our country and try to blow us up it time like this where all people stick together and start digging these small groups out of hiding and leave the good people to get on with there live. so instead of hating race and religion we need to work together it the only way

Can you blame us? With world events as they are? Trouble is whenever something happens, like recently,Muslims seem to think they should get special treatment. They want to be informed first, before the police arrest people. WHY? Why do Muslims NEED to be told first? WHY are Muslims different? When others are arrested, the community around them does not insist they are told previously! They insist on preaching about Mohamed whenever they get the opportunity,we don't want to hear it. Your beliefs are NOT ours. We are condemned by Muslims because of how we live our lives, whats it got to do with Muslims how we choose to live? Why do WE have to make allowances for your beliefs,so we do not offend you, when its not reciprocated? Why do some feel the need to blow people apart? What do they hope to achieve? The only achievement is hatred. If Muslims choose to settle in a country other than where they were born, why not just live there,do your own thing and let others with opposite beliefs to yours do so also? Why judge others for not doing what you think they should?I'm sure you wouldn't want to hurt anyone, but if decent Muslims want acceptance, and live without this hatred, then Muslim communities must do more to come forward and condemn these extremist amongst you, stop making excuses for them, stop expecting to be treated differently. My own believe is that Islam wants to wipe Western culture from the planet, and I believe someone,a Muslim actually, placed that on one of these boards tonight.

I think the main reason anyone hates a religion or a creed or a race is ignorance. Its as simple as that really. People make assumptions based on mainstream thought. Its human nature-you hate (because you fear) what you dont know.
People, get to know those you hate first and then see if they're really worth all the hate. You'll be pleasantly surprised (ihope).

i dont think people do hate muslims in particular on the whole, just the more extreme elements of any religion. these extremists are usually more like gangsters than pious people, as extremists simply use a religion as a vehicle for their hate and desire for power.
suicide bombing is way out of order though, and narrow minded people will automatically assume all muslims are suicide bombers because narrow minded people dont think very deeply either.
btw, that is how you spell buddhist ;o)
