Yes I love that writing. They have a new one that is a little like that but in a joking way. It's called buttprints in the sand. It's another version of footprints but it's God saying thing like you never prayed except only when you wanted something, you never spoke about me, always doubted me etc. Then I dropped you on your butt. But I like the footprints one better

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

(Yes, it's wonderful isn't it, and so true.)

My mum loves Footprints in the Sand - someone gave her a copy when her own Mother died - it really helped her grieving.

Yeah I really liked that and I had it on a bookmark for a while too. It is a comfort to think that you're not on your own, even when you think you are during the tough times. I found it on this link for those who want a reminder;

I think it is beautiful. I remember it when I feel like I'm alone. It gives me great comfort.

It is comforting, sweetie. My grandmother has it in her home. It goes to show that no matter how much you feel like you're alone, the Father comes and picks you up and carries you through whatever is bugging you.

Another favorite of mine is the "Serenity Prayer". I think it goes something like this:

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference".

Be well, dear.

It is a beautiful poem. It is so true too! I got my daughter a keychain, a coffee cup, and a t-shirt with it on there before she went off to school, so she would know she wasn't ever alone. She might be lonely, but never alone. She loved the surprise. God bless us all............

I'm not, but I think the News of the World Sunday magazine used to advertise a piece of jewellery which quoted this. I liked the quotation, but never took it further.
