As a Christian, I sometimes have a difficult time understanding the wording in the Bible. For that reason, I go to my father for traslation. He has studied the Bible himself, with others, and has listened to the opinions of other Christians who have studied it, for over 15 yrs. This is the answer he gave me, which I believe. "When Jesus returns he will come as low as the clouds. With him he will bring the souls of the Christians who have died. At this time their bodies will rise up from the grave and join their souls in 'the twinking of an eye'. Some Christians believe that Jesus will gather up the church at that time (take all the still living Christians) and others believe they will remain for awhile longer still trying to spread the word of God to the unsaved. All those left, Athiests, Satenists, and non-Christians, will remain for the 7 years of tribulation. At the end of the 7 yrs, Jesus will return all the way to the earth and wage a war against Satin. This is Arrmagedon.

For any Athiests or other non-believers who respond: Feel free to give me your version of the end, but dont refer me to Athiest websites, try to dispute my beliefs or any other non-sense. I am a believer, and you wont change that.

Well, your dad seems to have a solid grasp of what Christians believe. I also believe that Christ will return in the clouds and those who are asleep in Christ shall rise first and then those who are alive will be gathered (1 Corinthians 15:51) and they will return to heaven. THEN the anti-christ will have an opportunity to convert as many people into believing his message of peace which will probably end badly for them.

Seven years is the total tribulation period. The anti-christ will sign an agreement of peace with Israel but he will break the treaty after 3 and one half years. Then---pardon the expression---all hell will break loose.

Anyway---hope it helps.

No that isn't right! That is not what the bible says read Revelation
The wild beast meaning the governments of this world will turn on the Harlot which has always represented religion and destroy her.
Matthew 24:21 Says then a time of great tribulation such as the world has never seen before. Unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved alive but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short. If the chosen ones were raptured out what difference would it make how long it took?
Rev. 16; 14 This is gods war against the nations.
gathered at armageddon or a place of complete destruction
Then those who are faithful to god will survive.
Psalms 37:10,11 then the meek will inherit the earth and have exquisit delight in the abundance of peace.
that will be a war to end all wars.

Boy you sure know how to open up a can of worms don't you. You rock woman I swear you know how to ask the most wonderful questions to make people think about their answers instead of one wording it.
well to the question at hand. I have read a whole list of the answers and you know I believe it is a little more close to home than we all think it is. I have a theory of my own and I have to lay it on the line some time so here it is . I think that the internet is the beast in revelation.
I won't get into why but it is a perfect match if you put it up for scruintiny. www,,,,,,,,666,,,,,,,you have to have a password to do anything on the www.....and it can be anything you want it to be......666 is the mark of a man, for those who understand let them listen and hear. It is the mark of a man. whose pass word was originally 666,,,,, and did not care.
I personally don't think i could stand it if I knew. It was a gift to us the information we do have about it , because when asked point blank when it would come, even Jesus did not know. He told the asker that only His Father in Heaven knew the day and the hour. If God did not tell Jesus why in the world do we think we can figure it out? Beats the heck out of me. I am of the opinion that God knows if we knew when He was going to say okay I have had enough of you kids and it is going to stop now....we would wait until the last possible second to ask for forgivedness. Like now that I am 48 if I knew when I was 20 how my life was going to go and what all it would do to give me pain, I would have crawled into a hole and starved myself to death and avoided it all.

I do believe in the idea of God but not the bible word for word. Although I do agree with the ten commandments and feel that I have a unique relationship with what I believe God is to me and I do pray. I went to catholic school K-12. Never the less I can't help but think the world will come to an end by either a huge asteroid or we will end up blowing ourselves up with a bomb.

It's like what you said EXCEPT it will more than likely to happen half way in that 7 years span. Here's what starts that 7 years: the "Anti-Christ" will sign a peace treaty that is suppose to last for 7 years. Slowly but surely, it will be like a living Hell for Christians. We will be persecuted and matyred. Before Christians rise up and meet Christ, the mark of the Beast (translated it means 666) will fall onto those that don't believe. It will be like the Holoculst for Christians. The only people that will be able to buy anything are those people with the mark of the beast. No mark=no food. Jews had to wear the star of David and they were killed for it. Christians will NOT bear the mark of the beast and will be killed for it. My pastor said that Christians won't be able to buy anything and there will be a bounty for us. He gave me the example that if my neighbor knows I'm a Christian, he could turn me in to be killed and my neighbor will be recieve a ration so he can get food for his family. The end of the world will come after Christians go to Heaven. That's when God will release all of His wrath onto the world. Thankfully, I won't be around for the end of the world: I'll be in Heaven.

It will come when you least expect it.. it think

when Jesus comes, he will come at an hour that no one knows and he will come quick like a thief

and i think a lot of people will run away even some belivers will for the pure truth of it.
THen the dead will rise first then the people. the saints will be chosen and Jesus will take the saints with him to heaven and the remaining will suffer the tribulation.

War. Flat out massacre after the nuclear countries turn against each other. As for the bible, I don't believe, but I know that when the end comes, I'm going to start praying to whoever might still take my calls.

I won't try to do any such damage to your belief. The trouble with faith is that Armageddon is such a vague thing. It's sure to happen but will it happen in the literal or figurative sense? I personally believe human life is on a hell-bent course of self-destruction. As quickly as we've made life a thing of progress and comfort, we've become a danger to ourselves. We are capable of mass extinction, man-made termination of life on our planet. We are our own enemies. I really believe that it's far more likely that we will annihilate ourselves before the Almighty has a shot at us.

The "end of the world" (as WE know it) will probably come at our OWN hands. It doesn't really matter HOW it happens... I believe we'll do something stupid like accidentally start a Nuclear war- or release a incurably lethal germ into the environment, -and that'll be it. God won't have to lift a finger. We'll deliver OURSELVES into His judgement. So don't worry about it. Live each day as it might be your last- & enjoy it. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
