Actually, if you look at the situation at that time, JbJ (Joshuah bar Joseph) was rightly executed for 2 reasons. 1 from the point of view of the Jews, he was a heretic and blasphemer and 2, from the Romans point of view, he was fomenting revolution. In both cases, they successfully got shot of a troublemaker. A good theing they got rid of him when they did, he'd have had longer to corrupt peter if he'd lived. Pity the world hasn't become intelligent enough to realise that he's just another dead terrorist that they want to pray to. Remember also, that there's virtually no evidence that he really said anything that we knnow about today. All the writings came from people who wrote it down some 50 years later. In addition, most of the writings (and in fact, most of the evidence) came from biased witnesses each with their own adgenda.

How's that exactly? I mean no disrespect but I never quite understood what Christians meant when they made the claim that Jesus died for our sins. Please explain. How is that Jesus died for my sins when I wasn't even here when he did? And then what of the people that came after Christ, who will die for our sins?

It was an excrutiating way to die. Jesus must have suffered terribly . We have not been let off the hook and there is much more to this. Jesus' dying is not a free gift to all humanity. God wants something back from us. As my father always told me, "There's no such thing as a free dinner."

How did he die for yours sins? he kinda got screwed over if u ask me. all he did was got nailed to a stick. if the jews killed him rocks would have been thrown at him until he died, wouldnt it be wonderful to see a bunch of people walkin around with rocks hangin from their necks? and also back in that day he only had the disciple people who believed him. really 2 less cus judas betrayed him and peter didnt believe half the things he said

Wow! Can you feel the love?! Even SilentRunning got 2 thumbs up on this one.

I think you've found the key to YA success. It's the George Bush theory: suck up to the Christians. Good for you!

God created us. Satan corrupted us. Jesus redeemed us. Pretty nice of him. We were selfish, He was selfless. God just wants a relationship with us, and when we sin, we are forcing ourselves apart from God... hence the need for sacrifice (in Jesus). We are restored! Yeah!

I wouldn't call it wonderful, I'd call it bizarre.
How could crucifying someone absolve them from a subjective notion of "sin"?
You're cult gets stranger and stranger all the time.

Sweet so sweet! Where would i be if He didn't. Every morning that i wake up its a testimony for me cos i know that whenever i falter i can go back to that old landmark and reconcile for my sins. The experience is reassuring, fullfilling and makes me glad to be alive!

Hallelujah!

Unless you believe Jesus didn't die on the cross (well, it was dark and he was watched from a distance, wasn't he - so who could tell).
Jesus didn't die, he is still alive! And so is Elvis. And the Queen Mum! Hurraaahhh!!!
