Non-Believers:
How are you so confident in disbelieving Jesus? Humans have limitation of knowledge and limited brain-power. How dare you
disbelieve Christianity with your tiny-winny knowledge and logic?

My friends, please hear me out before you judge me. This is completely factual. On Friday night, I was watching the Oprah show. As her program aired in the same usual manner, the T.V. suddenly began flickering. The image of her remained undisturbed, and she looked at me with her powerful yet compassionate eyes. She began speaking to me. Her voice did not come from the television speakers. It radiated around the room. She told me to come with her. I whispered "I will". And in an aurora of bright flashes, I was whisked away, both body and mind, into an alien world. Oprah revealed to me that this was Earth... 50 years later. It was saddening. The whole landscape that my eyes were able to see was barren and desolate. She told me that this was the result of George Bush's reckless use of Atomic weapons. The world has been destroyed. The people that did survive are in a murderous frenzy...

Whether you are searching for answers, happiness, or peace, or even love and a partner, how is your searching going? I believe life is a search for knowledge or for God or many things. We are all searching. I search daily for ways to love and serve God and to be a positive influence in the lives of all I meet.

A few years ago while on a Confirmation retreat, a priest stood in front of each of us, one at a time, and said some words, and we each felt something pass thru, or sort of push us back (hard to explain) and we fell back gently and had to lie on the floor a few minutes to recover. Does anyone know what that was called?
I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense.

From 1949 until 1967 Gush Etzion was controlled by Jordan. During the interim, the survivors of Massuot Yitzchak, Ein Tzurim, and Revadim founded their communities anew in Israel to the west of the original sites. The survivors of Kfar Etzion ultimately founded Nir Etzion in the Mount Carmel area near Haifa.

the area of Gush Etzion was Originally part of the land the state of Israel acquired during its independence. As stated above it was captured in the 1948 war. Why as this not considered occupied territory?

Why is it only when Israel captures land in war is it considered illegally occupied land?

If you're an Atheist pick one religion and pick one thing about it you would like to change. But just one thing.

We pray to saints for intercession of prayers to God. Just as you may ask your neighbor to pray for you. You are not worshipping your neighbor you just want to have another praying with you. We hope the saints will place our petitions at the foot of the Lord. Same with the statues. People so often think we are bowing or worshipping the statues. That is not true. Just as you may have a picture of your family on your wall. You aren't worshipping the picture!! It's a reminder of how you feel about them. When I see a statue of a saint, it's a gentle reminder to pray.

You say might as well believe because you don't lose anything. That is not a great arguemnet. Picking any one religion is just as dangerous under the same logic. If I pick Christianity in fact wouldn't this piss off Allah even more than if I had no religion at all and remained a good person? Then I'm worshipping a false profit or something and I'm really gonna burn. But anyways as an atheist your arguement sounds no better than any other religion because I don't believe in religion or what it stands for. But back to the point picking anything over anything is dangerous under logic, just because you think yours is the one true religion doesn't mean anyone else does.

When I started Y!A, I was undecided if there is a god or not. After reading and responding to countless Qs and As, I found that 1) the term for me is Agnostic, and 2) I am learning more and more that there in fact may not be a god.

If you believe there is a god, how can you be sure? In ancient times there were many gods. The American Indians had many gods. What convinced them there was only one god?

I'd like to think there is a god, but when I did believe wholeheartedly, my life was filled with one majorly bad experience after another. When I started to question that belief, my life seemed to improve a little.

I'm sure you know the wager, but I'll restate for illustrative purposes :

(1) Believe in God + God exists = Heaven
(2) Believe in God + God doesn't exist = Nothing
(3) No belief in God + God exists = Hell
(4) No belief in God + God doesn't exist = Nothing

From a juvenile approach, this would seem reasonable ... and it appeals to those who fail to consider other alternatives (other religions being "right") in their Christianity-centric view of the world. But let's disregard this aspect for now.

In case (2), belief without God, the implied gain / loss is "nothing" ... our personal outcome is not changed.

But isn't this rather selfish in nature? What of the outcome to others? Could we not have spent our lives helping the human condition ... not discriminating against homosexuals ... not flinging missles at countries whose religious beliefs are different? Personal immortality may not exist ... but through our actions we can achieve immortality in the survival of man.

not available .. plus on here between commercials (LOL cuz I need some other stupid entertainment -- NO, NOT THAT YOU ALL ARE STUPID as you aren't so don't get me wrong. I guess my point is that I have a question or maybe two --- is it a full moon out tonight? Second question.....is there anything in the Bible about a full moon? Just curious. I mean there is scientific fact that more things happen...babies born....people committing crimes, etc. Just curious. You can write "read the Bible" --- okay -- have read some of it but like MOST -- not the whole thing so I guess I'm going to hell, huh?

It seems that Christians believe in Christianity when the religion of Christianity is obviously in conflict with the teachings of Jesus. Jesus never said worship me but he did say worship and serve God only! Jesus never said he was dying for the sins of mankind but he did say the world is wrong about righteousness because he is going to the father. Why dont Christians see the truth for themselves?

Really. I'm curious. After knowing Jesus, after reading the Bible, after chasing after the Creator with all that I am, I think that denominations are bad. Destructive. Devisive. Can anybody tell me what good there is in multiple churches if there's only one Christ?

I modified Pascel's Wagar. Lord Jesus so benevolent to inspire me through the Holy Spirit and bestow Genius on me. Now, lemme see how you refute it.

* You may believe in God as believed by the Christians, and if this God exists, you go to heaven: your gain is infinite.
* You may believe in God as believed by the Christians, and if thisGod doesn't exist, your loss is finite and therefore negligible.
* You may not believe in God as believed by the Christians, and if this God doesn't exist, your gain is finite and therefore negligible.
* You may not believe in God as believed by the Christians, and if this God exists, you will go to hell: your loss is infinite.
