You are correct. No one other than God can answer this question and what difference does it make anyway? If you believe in a Supreme being such as God then faith alone is all that is needed. If you think that he made possible everything that we have then knowing where He came from is not important. Believing is the thing!

God the father and God the son are the same thing, if you really want to know the answer to that question, wait until we are living in heaven, and you can ask him face to face, I am sure he will tell you where he came from.
God bless!

Good question. I often wonder this myself. He's been around for an eternity before He made us, and He'll be around just as long after the end of the world when He comes back to set this captive free and take me home. It's a paradox, I know, but it's something we just can't comprehend. Like the Chicken or the Egg question. Or the sound of one hand clapping. You just can't get your mind around it.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:1
God always was and always will be. (like it or not)
I am the first and the last...the alpha and the omega

God has always existed... He is eternal and infinite... We can't understand it... We are limited in understanding and knowledge... God is unlimited in everything... He is supernatural... He is not limited by our time, space, dimensions or humanness...
I don't know how else to say it... God is a supreme being... He is a god... He has no limits... We can't comprehend the incomprehensible

This is the eternal question that is unanswerable. God was and is and is to come. God always was. He always will be. This I thank Him for. God bless you.

I think you are right...it is the unanswerable question...we cannot possibly know everything about God. I think He just always was...not about to try & explain that...Can't explain the unknowable.
