the area of Gush Etzion was Originally part of the land the state of Israel acquired during its independence. As stated above it was captured in the 1948 war. Why as this not considered occupied territory?

Yes Israel attacked,captured and occupied his neigbour countries' territories such as Jordan,Egypt and Lebanon.Israel had no state and had territory up to Second World War,Backed by USA and UK after that they have a country and state by seizing Palestinian country.Then they expanded their territory by war with their neighbour countries.Israel race was saved and brought from Egypt by Musa or Moses prophet through the Red Sea,because they were pressed by Fir'aun KingBut after they lived in their country and God gave several prophets to them,they said that the prophet was a witchcraft and they killed the prophet.
