because they can dish it out, but they can't take it! they "use" religion to justify their hatred. but can't handle when anyone calls 'em on it. all I can say is, if all they can do is preach hatred and intolerance, they shouldn't be surprised when they get a dose of their own medicine!

Because they can't think for themselves. All their life they have been forced into this certain way of thinking and now every time someone questions it they go back to what they were taught and try to 'fix' everyone else. Maybe they used to think for themselves but they got pushed and pushed into this system of beliefs that they no longer have the ability or are afraid to think because of their past experiences. I see more bible thumpers on here insulting people than I do atheists. I think most atheists could care less. When these people come across something they don't like, they feel the need to shove their crap down everyone else's throat. Even if the question had nothing to do with religion!!! They just keep on preachin'! They need to learn that unless someone asks their opinion on God or whatever then they need to keep their mouths shut. Stop telling us we're going to hell if we don't follow god. We can do what we want just like you can. Get a life and think for yourself. Question your very existence until you can't question anymore!
There...I probably ticked quite a few religious freaks off but whatever, I'm just answering the question...and maybe a little more. Sorry!

You are so right. Sometimes people ask legitimate questions and this is when and where the "Christian" should be shining in his best light! But instead, they sink to the low, demeaning and degrading and condemning people. You know why? Because there are some people who really don't know and understand that this 'thing' is so very simple. People try to make it hard, but it's now. We are required to do basically ONE THING: Love one another as we have been loved. Consider all the wrongs that we have done and instead of looking at a mirror and comparing myself to the next person who might have 'done more evil than me, which would make me 'better' than him', I should look in that mirror and see the goodness of Jesus and how he loved him and gave himself for me. When I do that - when I look at someone who had treated me wrong and I can still say, I love you with the Love of Jesus and mean it, I have overcome that evil that once tried to consume me. I am the winner - and evil and wrong-doing has lost. We don't realize that when we say ugly things to people, we are only falling deeper into the trap. When we show love, keep a smile on our face, realize the great ability to move and get up in the morning - to give thanks for everything - even when things don't look good, to be able to say and do something nice for someone else - to share and forgive and keep ourselves holy and separate from the things that would depress and condem and defile us - we are living and loving the way Jesus asked us to. So, when someone asks a question - give them the answer you know. It's not about the Bible and fighting over who said this and who said that, who is wrong and who is right - it's only about how much God loved me and protects me and I have to go and do the same to everyone I meet. That means in words and deeds. I hope that as we grow in grace and truth - that we all learn to treat each other better.

They're either not true Christians, or they are poor examples (not that I'm a perfect one by any stretch). Sometimes I think people get offensive when they don't know all of the answers. I'm a true believer in Christ, and consider myself a Christian, but there are many questions I can't answer or things I can't explain. I don't try most of the time. I just know that life will not always be fair, miracles happen, God answers prayers, bad things happen to good people and good things can happen to bad people. I have faith and know that I don't have to know all of the answers, but one day I will, but not during my life here on Earth as we now know it. I apologize for those who know no better, or are intolerant of those who don't believe as they do. I wish everyone believed as I do, but I don't hate or criticize those who don't. You'll know when you come across a true Christian that's living as they should.

They may be attempting to stand up for what they believe. I do not question the fact that you do not consider yourself religious. This fact is unimportant, when you consider the greater good involved here. Do you believe in a God that created all of what you are and see? If you do then you in a way are a believer which is far more important than considering yourself to be religious. If you don't believe then too bad, how do you think that this world, universe and space came about then? Believe me it is far better in knowing how you fit into this scheme knowing that a loving God designed it for you to be a part of.

I do not think that I am one of these Christians that you are speaking of but I am asking you, does adding fuel to flames stop the fire? Why do you feel the need to trade insult for insult? Isn't that a rather feeble attempt at getting even?I am sure you are above such things as I have read many of your questions and answers.

Please be gentle there are a lot of teens on here. There are children on here too. They are trying to voice their opinion the best way they know how. I realize in the world of adulthood we all get slightly bent out of shape when this happens. But easy does it. I am a Christian and I love the Lord with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength. This is my way, if you choose another that is your decision, I can explain my way and you can explain your way, if we don't agree that is fine. It states in my Bible "come let us reason one with the other." No yelling there, it also says not to argue over the Word, or be led into an argument. In all things let there be peace.

i think of the biggest reason is concern. they are in a position to't answer the question so this is an attack on their sensibilities. yet one extra reason is projection. human beings see in others what they comprehend themselves to be in a position to. If somebody is often making snide comments, then they see this in others. meaning somebody would ask a wonderfully polite question, yet some mean guy or woman reads meanness into it. Neither reason is right. I choose Yahoo would tackle the project and supply up quickly deleting questions as quickly as somebody comments it.

All people are flawed in one form or fashion. It doesn't mean that it is just the "religious," it's just people in general. Learn how to accept the percentage that some folks just don't communicate well and listen only to wisdom. Lumping people into just one catagory is the wrong thing to do. There are yet even more arguments in politics no?

it doesnt bother me a bit ... and if ur stupid i might let you know it, but it doesnt mean im crying about it ... some questions do not make any sense period .... other questions are designed to antagonize by focusing on somthing irrelevant or somthing that just isnt known ... science has theories also based on unknown factors and if someone wants to get anal and ask a question about the unknown factor to piss everyone off then that fact is apparent ... what would you like to be called for doing that? how about just an instigator lol .... rude .. aah ... watever ...

I have been on YQ&A for about two months and I have seen damn few honest questions made to 'Christians" concerning their faith... The overwhelming majority are just baiting and goading to satisfy the agenda of the anti
Christian crowd.
i would not hsesitate to say the overwhelming majority of the bash, insult, rude comes from the anit Christian rather than the Christian side...But I admit that on occasion a particularly objectionable so-called question will rile me enough to let one fly in return...
If you have an honest question concerning the Christian faith, I accept such questions. Or, youcan check me out at:
