Religious dogma has produced mostly death and misery throughout history. Its a fact!

Comparatively,
Science(meaning knowlege;from scienter, to know.) has freed much of mankind from the vicissitudes of nature. Modern, western democratic governments all derive from the science of the ancient Greeks and the refinements of the Enlightenment---consent of the governed instead of rule by divine right .

Yes, science has created weapons, but the use of those weapons was/is in the name of religion. ASK LEBANON!

Hence, why believe in gods?

So many people have a had a problem at a church. I have been in church all my life and would like to hear a personal account of experiences instead of just being told by a bunch of people "stuff happened" So what do you think and why?

Examples of extremists from each major category........

Extremist muslims: suicide bombers, 9/11

Extremist christians: bombing abortion clinics, and a
group you can find at www.godhatesfags.com

Extremist atheists: killing for politics, and/or to exterminate
religious freedom (pol pot, stalin)

Take that into consideration b4 you give me the 'religion starts wars' crap.

Ok. Why are the "Christians" so worried about what the gays are doing? If they are so "at peace" with themselves, why does the whole gay/straight thing bother them so much? People are BORN gay. How would you like it if suddenly people decided you should have sex only with people of your own gender? Would you not get sick of it? Wouldn't you want them to mind their own darn business and stay out of yours? If someone said to me that it was only acceptable for me to have sexual relations with women. I think, no, I know, I would still want to be with men. It seems to me, gay people should not be forced into a "straight" lifestyle to make others happy. No, it is not a choice. I know, because I am straight..and no matter how many people would try to tell me to be gay. I will always be straight. So why not leave homosexuals alone. And stop trying to call them sinners. Even if you believe they ARE sinners, I say "let he who is free of sin...." you know the rest.

You love to read, but the only thing you could find on the beach was a book called “The Origin of Species” You had no idea how long you would remain in the island. Everyday you prayed, nothing happened. Would you be afraid to pick up the most hated book among Christian community? Would you be scared to read “Survival of the Fittest”?

Ten years has gone by, you had fallen in love with that book, you remembered word by word, would you still be the same person you used to be, a Christian?

Just curious

the first thing i knew in my life is that i exists , i see it , i feel it , i am sure of it , the people who i meet everyday (my family , freinds , coworkers) clame to be existing too , is there a way for me to be sure?

please dont confuse the word "existing" , for someone to exists , it means that he/she is a soul which thinks , CHOOSE , feel.

Thank You

It's kind of like saying " I can fly" and when another person says ok fly then."

Your reply is " I don't have to I because I SAID I could."

I mean, the Bible was written say about 2,500 years ago, right? So how were people "SAVED" 35,000 years prior? Human beings have been around for a long time, did all of their soul's go to Heaven OR did all the "SAVING" only happen since biblical times? All of the people of the earth didn't originate from the Middle East, what about everyone else in history from the Americas and Africa and Asia, Australia etc....

that is so sad-and they say im not Jewish-when they reject Moses and Isaiah and our Messiah who they wrote about! please pray for them alot-and for me too to stay true to the Messiah as promised for all people.
Isaiah 42 vs 1 states "he shall be a light to the gentiles"
how could a person claim to be Jewish and say the messiah would be an ordinary person-Isaiah said he would be God's Son and the Almighty God, the prince of peace (Sar Shalom)
Isaiah 9 vs 6 "Unto us a child is born, a Son is given, and he shall be the prince of peace, the almighty God, and the wonderful counselor.
i finally believed our Jewish prophets and as the Messiah says i let him into my heart to forgive my sins and become my friend.
Revelation 3 vs 19&20 "Behold i stand at your life's door and knock, if you hear my word and let me in, i will forgive your sins and become your friend, amen
peace to all and please help those who say you cant be Jewish and believe in the Messiah-they arnt Jewish

I keep getting told that only Christians get to go to Heaven. So I'd like to know how many became Christians primarily so that they could avoid going to hell.

And please be honest. After all, lying is a sin (and even thinking about sinning is a sin).

it may seem like we are high and mighty. why is that-God is in our hearts and we feel what the Almighty feels. God convicts u of ure sins, and u think we are judging. actually, it is through our actions God is judging ures. we know it hurts Him-we hurt inside, too!-to see you not believing in Him. u can laugh, call us crazy, call us stupid, u can abuse us. after all, nonbelievers laughed as Jesus hung on the cross in agony and abandonment. He longs for u to become His child. the more u hate us born-again Christians, the more we tend to love u nonbelievers. but, we do get discouraged sometimes when you don’t listen. thats OK. we arent here to make you believe, God does that,we are simply here to tell you what God said. you must decide ure eternal fate, we can only introduce u to the way of salvation. ultimately, it’s ure call that decides ure fate and all. u can deny Jesus, or u can accept. Jesus died for u. u can hate Him—but the more He tends to love u. He won’t stop loving.
