I think the fault lies with how they are taught on a daily basis. They basically grew up disliking Him. If they stop and really study the prophecies on their own, they will see that Yeshua is indeed the Meshiach of Israel.

However, you also need to realize that their rejection is ALSO part of prophecy. Was not He the cornerstone that was rejected, and Who became a stone of stumbling? The offensiveness of Messiah can be seen in type with both Joseph as well as the Brazen Serpent.

The good news is, this is not a permanent condition, and Yeshua commands us to love the Jewish people in spite of their rejection. It is prophesied, and will be fulfilled, that all Israel shall be come to believe in the last days. We also know that in those last days, there will be 144,000 Jewish preachers who will fulfill the great commission of bringing the light to the Gentiles.

First, there are 2 basic types of Jews- racial and religious.... The racial Jews are simply that- a racial group- they believe anything they want. A "racial Jew" can be Christian, believing in Jesus.
The second group- those who don't believe that Jesus was who He said He was....
They were "looking beyond the mark" By the end of the story, Jesus will have come twice. He's already come once, His second comming has yet to happen. The New Testament Jews were looking for a political savior- someone to "save" them from Roman rule.
In addition, the Jewish leadership at the time was too prideful, paranoid, power-hungry to accept that their promised Messiah had come and walked among them. They were literate, they knew the prophesies... They knew EXACTLY who He was- they just didn't want to loose their power, prestige, status, etc.

If I remember right Jesus was jewish. The jews believe that he was just a regular man. I know it is fiction but if you get a chance read the book "The Davinci Code", it opened my eyes to alot of things. History is just how people perceve it. Theres no doubt in my mind that Jesus was a holy man. So what if he fathered children. He made his mark on this world as a caring teacher. Is it so far a strech that he could have been a father and a husband and they just left all that out?

Man, you need to get a grip, and stop believing all of this religious b.s.! Judaism, Christianity, Islam -- all organized religions are a way to control people. Control their minds, and control them. I do believe in the teachings of Jesus; however, I don't believe he was literally the son of God, or the "messiah". I don't believe there ever will be a "messiah". But, to answer your first question, like mocha5 said, I don't think Jewish people dislike Jesus -- they simply don't believe he was what Christians believe he was.

It's because they don't believe Jesus is the promised Messiah. They're still waiting for a Messiah. I don't think they dislike him, they just think he was an ordinary prophet/teacher.

Jewish people believe that their savior will ride in and deliver them from bondage. That was the promise that was given to them, so Christ wasn't the savior, he was a prophet and a great man, but not their messiah, deliverer, or savior. They took the scriptures so literally that they can't look past the fact that Jesus WAS their savior. He did deliver them from bondage. Not physical bondage, but spiritual bondage, through his act of attonement, crucifiction and resurrection.

Help me out here - I thought you pretty much had to be born Jewish, and that meaning your ancestry. Me, I'm Norwegian and German.
I would suppose there are different groups of people who are Jewish, those who believe in Christ, those who don't and those that have drifted from everything completely.

in basic terms a fool could have self assurance that they don't seem to be Christians (=believers in Christ) because of fact they openly worship Jesus and carry the hot testomony as inerrant! it is an argument of intentional deception for some or maximum of them (to trick Jews into believing they could settle for Christian ideals and proceed to be Jewish, which by ability of how is an absurdity) and as for something--they have been duped into believing that they magically can grow to be Jews quite of Christians by ability of doing "Jewish" issues. those are the gullible ones. ninety 9% of all "messianic Jews" have not any Jewish historic past in any respect. They belonged to 3 Christian denomination, in particular Baptist, till now they by surprise grew to grow to be "messianic Jews." the full "messianic Jewish" circulation is an insult to Jews because of fraudulent use of the call of OUR faith for this strange Christian cult.

Many Jewish people resent people who say"" I can't understand why you don't................................."" they have heard it too often and now get up tight about it!
PRAY for them
I am Praying for them!
Feel sorry for them but always remember>>
The Jewish people are ""The Apple Of The God's Eye""".
