It's kind of like saying " I can fly" and when another person says ok fly then."

Your reply is " I don't have to I because I SAID I could."

There are seven basic proofs God exists. Properly, they belong in a separate book all by themselves, but I will cover them briefly here.
(1) That there is a great CREATION is obvious. The very fact of the existence of THINGS; the universe, the solar system, the earth and all myriad forms of life upon it, demands a CREATOR!
(2) The existence of great, immutable, powerful LAWS (and I speak of the "laws" governing the physical universe; the laws of science and chemistry; laws governing the action of water in its three states; the cleavage and fracturing properties of minerals; gravity, inertia, isostasy, etc., etc.). The existence of these great laws demands a lawgiver!
(3) The intricacy of complex design; whether the feathers on the wing of a bird; the eye of a fly; the breathing apparatus of a dolphin; billions of intricately-designed snowflakes; your own muscular, skeletal, digestive and circulatory systems-etc., etc., requires a great DESIGNER!
(4) LIFE exists. Life in myriad forms. You and I both know that life only comes from preexisting life! This is called the "law of biogenesis." Life demands a great LIFE GIVER!
(5) Life only comes from preexisting life of the same kind! Thus, there is procreation, and the sustaining of life on our planet; the constant recycling of falling trees, rotting vegetation; the bacteria which break it down to become food for the insects which are food for dozens of other creatures, which are in turn food for larger creatures, which are in turn food for man; the cyclical character of our symbiotic environment which, like a gigantic machine was once "wound up," and is gradually running down, requires a sustaining force. Inherent within this proof are the laws governing the "conservation" of energy" and the laws of thermodynamics. It is obvious our universe has a great sustaining force-a GREAT SUSTAINER!
(6) Fulfilled prophecies, of which there are dozens, with dozens more yet to be fulfilled, constitute a great proof of Almighty God. Even simple high school or beginning college-level Bible handbooks such as Halley's, or the Angus Bible Handbook contain fascinating proofs from the spade of archeologists corroborating the prophecies of men who foretold the collapse of great empires and the emergence of others centuries and centuries beyond their own lifetime. Now, we are able to look back at such men as Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and others, and see what they foretold actually HAPPENED exactly as they foretold it!
Many of the biblical prophecies are in process of being fulfilled. The serious student of biblical archeology knows that it is axiomatic that, wherever archeology reveals information about ancient civilizations, it always corroborates the biblical record, never refutes it!
(7) The final proof-one which dyed-in-the-wool disbelievers will doubtlessly scoff at-is answered prayer! Of course. God does not answer the prayers of skeptics and disbelievers. However, those individuals who have experienced the answer to PRAYER; those who have been healed of their sicknesses and diseases, who have actually seen miracles performed, are no longer doubting, but believing. Answered prayer is definitely a proof that there is a God who can hear. and answer!

I see ignorance is up bright and early. It seems as though if atheists can't explain something by "science" in a laboratory they can't get their "minds" around it. What you call "proof" in science is hardly the same as proof in, say, history or literature. However, I'll give you one little tid-bit to gnaw on for a while (assuming you're up for the challenge, that is): What could be written in a book like, say, the Revelation that would persuade you that if it were true (as in something it prophesied was going to happen from that point at a time in the distant future, and it's happening right now), and was based on absolute historical and undeniable fact, would guarantee that you never asked another inane question like this? Try this: that book speaks of an end-time "beast", or "world order" of governments, and then some other stuff that must also happen as well before the global sh!t hits the fan. Ever hear of the "Treaty of Rome" of 1956? Basically, it gave us what was then to become what we have now - the European Union - an absolute and undeniable proof of that prophesy. Just this little tid-bit and so much more that's happening right now (God, -only a complete blind, idiot couldn't see this) to drive the peoples of the world toward exactly that- all given in prophesy to a servant named John by a God you say doesn't exist. His timeline isn't your timeline, and mere predictions (Nostradamus most notably) are nowhere near the height and significance of prophesy. I have no doubt that you're such an educated and modern, enlightened "free-thinker", so care to take a stab at it? Please - amuse me and everyone else. I could use a really good laugh about right now. Oh, by the way - God isn't made/carved out of wood, stone, gold, or silver. He also doesn't do cameos on CNN to do a few Copperfield parlor-tricks either. If the God of the bible could be "discovered" by science the way archaeologists discovered all the pagan gods of antiquity, He'd be little more than another idol.

I can answer that with a question;
How can you prove Quarks exist to laymen without some visual (books, slides, illustrations, etc.,) referencing? Even then I suppose someone could challenge who wrote or produced such material and even question their credentials.

The Bible is a record one could view the same way - except back when the books were drafted, there were no graphic illustrations, no digital cameras or computers to run models on and the like.

Just as valid as any scientific journal that say, Isaac Newton would have written - with the exception the Bible is not focused in scientific journal work.

If I related any kind of personal experience I had had with God it would not be enough. Especially on a web site like this, its hard to relate personal tales of God's love or mercy. Even an experience like the one Paul had that lead to his conversion would have very little effect on anyone who didn't witness it.

If someone came on here today and said that God had struck him blind and then spoken to him, his words wouldn't be accepted. He'd be ridiculed and many would think he was crazy. Believers and unbelievers alike would find it hard to believe such a story.

If I cannot reproduce a personal experience on demand for witnesses, then it does very little good with unbelievers unless there is evidence.

As far as proof goes, we have only our own faith and His word to offer. The best witness we can ever give is to live by his example and be ready to help any that he sends our way in need of guidance.

First you have to research and find out of the bible is authentic. There is a book called More than a Carpenter and a bunch of other books as well worth reading. This particular one is written by a guy who set out to disprove Christianity..... Once you have truly researched it; and,If you find that the bible is indeed authentic , then you will understand why it is the #1 MOST QUOTED BOOK BY HUMANITY AND WHY SOME OF THE GREATEST MINDS OF ALL TIMES HAVE COME TO KNOW CHRIST........

""Why do Christians only use bible scripture as proof god exists?""

They REALLY forget that, more or less, only Christians believe in The Bible.

well I have never known of a Christian that says the Bible itself proves that GOD is real only that it is his WORD. We rely on it for guidence. Many things in the Bible have already been proven to have happened and or existed. so if that is what your talking about, because it is true.

Your question has already been asked many times...

Let's just put it this way...

I'd rather BELIEVE there is a God and live that way, to die and find out I'm right...

Then to live like there isn't one; die...and find out there is...

Christianity is about Faith...the Bible is true, there are other historical documents that prove it true and correct.

Grace to you and God Bless!

Besides...NO ONE has been able to disprove the Bible. The ones that have tried...are now believers in Jesus Christ.

Not all Christians do. Life is proof that God exists. We are proof. As a believer, I would tell you to look at your life and at yourself in order to see God. He is in all things manifested and He is in you. Allow God to work in your life. Trust that all things are possible..Even flying. :)

God bless and keep you,

Jai

THAT'S BULLS H I T. HERE'S LOGIC AS PROOF. NO BIBLE VERSES INVOLVED. and this has been written hundreds of years ago. St. Thomas Aquinas.
*************************************

Does God Exist?

Objection 1. It seems not, because if one of two contraries be infinite, the other would be wholly eliminated. But the very word "God" implies infinite goodness. So if God existed, there would not be evil. But evil is found in the world. Therefore God does not exist.

Objection 2. Moreover, that which can be brought about through fewer causes has not been produced by many. But it seems that everything we see in the world can be brought about through other causes, if God didn't exist. For all natural things can be traced to one cause, which is nature. And all voluntary things can be traced to one cause, which is human reason or will. So there is no need to suppose that God exists.

I answer: The existence of God can be proved in five ways.

The First and most manifest way is taken from motion. It is certain, and evident to our senses, that in the world some things are in motion. Now, whatever is being moved is being moved by another. If that by which it is being moved be itself moved, then this also must be moved by another, and that by another again. But this cannot go on to infinity, because then there would be no first mover., and consequently, no other mover. For secondary movers move only because they are themselves moved by the primary one. That is why it is necessary to conclude to a First Mover - which is moved by nothing else whatever. And this all understand as being "God."

The Second way is from the nature of the efficient cause. Among sensible things in our world we find an order of efficient causes. There is no case of a thing being the cause of itself, nor is such a thing possible, for then it would exist prior to itself, which is impossible. Therefore it is necessary to admit a first efficient cause, which we call "God."

The Third way is taken from the possible and necessary. We find some things which are possible of being or not-being, since they are found to be generated, or corrupted, and consequently possible of being or not-being. But it is impossible for all such things always to exist, for that which can not-be at some time is not. So if everything can not-be, then at one time there was nothing. But if this were true, even now there would be nothing, because that which is not does not being to Be, except by something which is. So, if at one time nothing existed, it would have been impossible for anything to have begun to exist. Therefore, there must be something whose existence is necessary. It is therefore necessary to admit the existence of a being having its necessity through itself, and not receiving it through another, but rather causing in others their necessity. This we call "God."

The Fourth way is taken from the grades of perfection found in things. Among beings there are some more and some less good, true, noble, etc. But "more" and "less" are predicated [assume] a maximum, as a thing which is "hotter" is only so because it is approaching "hottest." There is, then, something which is Truest and Best and Most Noble, etc. In other words, something which is a maximum, and this we call "God."

The Fifth way is taken from the governance of things. For we see that certain bodies devoid of natural knowledge act toward an end. This is evident from their acting always in the same way, in order to obtain the best result. Hence it is clear that they achieve their end, not by luck, but by purpose. Now whatever lacks knowledge does not tend toward an end unless it is directed by some being endowed with knowledge and intelligence, just as the arrow is directed by the archer. It follows that some intelligent being exists by whom all natural things are directed to their end. This being we call "God."

SEE? NO BIBLE VERSES here... JUST PURE LOGIC.
