Why is questioning validity or the existence considered insulting to religionists?
Question Mohameds motives and Muslims want to stone you to death, or cut off your head or blow up your local pizzaria.

Question a Fundamentlist christian and they want to bomb the nearest abortion clinic, or insult your mother.

Anti-intellectualism, obscuranism, and snake-handling seem to rule the day in most "Modern" religions.

And you people wonder why educated people refuse to convert?

If i were to write a book charting the 'miricles' of David Blane and such like, and threw in a few other stories, some of which i may decide to make up, then put some foney names and numbers at the top of each page, i bet there would be some stupid **** who would take it as gospel truth in a few hundred years time and mabee half the world will believe it and it will cause loads of wars and stuff. That would be a laugh.

Why do people come to it by the droves?

Since Christians are often accused of playing it safe for a reward, maybe having calvinism will distinguish between the opportunists and the true Christians. After all, true faith is unconditional and means that you don't believe that God owes you anything for what you did, since nothing God do can be wrong.

I was raised catholic and went to catholic school my whole life. It never made sense to me regarding the sacraments and going to confession and I stopped going to church. Then I went to a born-again christian church for a couple of years and went to bible study and prayer meetings and I was happy and fulfilled. Then I started to feel inadequate and like I did not measure up to the other people and they started getting on my nerves. I took in a friend of my teenage son who was homeless after his mom was murdered and the pastor called me and said I had to kick him out as it gave the appearance of evil as I was single and this teenager was living with me even though my son lived with me too. After that I never went back to church. Now I am remarried but not to a believer and we have a 10 month old baby. I'm depressed a lot and thinking about getting back to a good church. How do i get and stay with the program?

Seriously, you can go to a heaven ...there is many..even infinite possibitlities of heavens ......This is a 100% serious statement. Everyone knows we make mistakes..it is called learning...not sin.
How do I know this you may ask. I have studied all the religions and they all come together in one big truth. Everyone had a piece of the puzzle, god knew this, that was the plan...to love they neighbor and love meaning understand. People aren't the fools you think they are. How could they have personal testimonies of miracles, their heaven, love, spirits, angels
Why am I telling you this......What am i trying to sell you..right!
Here it is, heaven is about like minds, synergy, imagination. We need your imagination to create more worlds to experience YES we can create new worlds but there has to be a group effort to keep them stable for others to live in them.Just like this one. We are god, and every other world

priests have to promote marrige and good family values to people so what is the reason for them not being allowed to marry and have kids themselves cos how are they supposed to know what family life is if the only experience the had was growing up in one , this is a lot different to raising one especialy in present times where social behaviour and toloronces are changing all the time ? just wondering

It is my opinion that because of the all that happening especially in the Middle East that its Muslims that are going to bring the Thrid World War and somehow help in the disater of the world coming to an end. I'm not saying I hate Muslims or anything its that because of their differences of how the world is and should be they're getting countries involed with their own problems. I know how its like to live in a third world country (Haitian) but damn. Maybe Bush is only pretending to be stupid so he won't have to deal with it and that he won't be blamed for it all. What's your opinion?

I have a friend who goes to church with me. He recently told me that he's gay. He's only told two other people so far, his two sisters. And I asked him what he's going to do about church, since the people there don't approve of homosexuality. And he isn't going to go anymore.

Now, ever since he told me all this, I've been looking in the bible and talking with other Christian friends about homosexuality, and I'm pretty pissed off about the Christian attitude toward it. I don't think it's wrong, and I think he was born this way (ever since we were kids he's always been a little, uh, fruity, I'll say). So I keep asking why God would make someone this way just to label them a sinner and outsider. What kind of just and loving God is this? This situation has really got me questioning my faith, and everyone tells me to hate the sin but not the sinner. Well, I don't want to hate ANYTHING! Anyway, my buddy says he's been looking into Wicca. What is that? Does it say gay is wrong?

Like seriously. I log on to this site and suddenly I see this guy using my words trying to make me look like an idiot , and then the other asking a question about something idiotic I say.

People are like quoting my words like if I were some kind of false prophet or something when in the real life I have never tried to convince anyone about God, and I am not a preacher. I never was and never will.

What people expect from others in a Religion and Spirituality section?

"Oh No I agree with everything you say 100%"

If people live with that mentality then they have no life.

I really don't CARE if you are an atheist or whatever. Live your life and do whatever you want to do, if something I said offended you then there's something wrong with you people.

If I try to care about people then it's wrong and if I don't care about them and show indifference then is wrong too.
