Dear God,

Please bless this man as he bravely goes into Iraq. Take care of him and help him to fight for what is right and what he believes in. Please help him to be a ministry to other guys going with him and to help them as well.

Amen.

My prayers are with all of the people in the war torn areas of the world. My best friend of 22 years just came back form an 1 year tour. I was afraid every day but I knew that his life in military service was his calling. If he died I would have found comfort that he died as a saint doing the work God called him to do. IF he opted out I would have had to kick his behind. Not easy for a 40 yr. old civilian to take on and win against a 42 yr old lifetime soilder and MP. But gosh darn it I would have found a way. God hates that the war is happening and that people are dying but God is proud when people called to serve and protect say yes Lord, I will follow. Tell you friend God is proud of her dad and proud of her for standing behind his decission to be in service.

I will pray.

My cousin went to Iraq for almost two years I think. He wasn't wounded or killed but he had a close brush with death. A nearby site was bombed. Please talk to your friend. Because the saddest part is not knowing if he is alive one second and dead the next. The best part is hearing his voice over the phone on holidays. I will pray, I hope others do too. *

I have a friend over there now. I will most certainly pray for him. I did time in the Marines and got called up for desert storm. That was a walk in the park compared to now. Keep the faith, and know land of the free and home of the brave are going to fight cowards and reprehensible people. Most of all they are going to help the Iraqi people keep their freedom and make history. It is a dangerous but honorable and just cause. God bless you and your family.

Pray he gets a bulletproof vest and a desk job. You're prayers won't stop a bullet, because if they could no theist soldier would ever get shot and as far as I can see it's more than just atheists who cop a bit of lead in Iraq. The muslims' god (same one as christians' I believe?) doesn't seem to be listening any more to them as he/she/it will to you given the number of innocents killed in collateral damage.

If you really want to save him, convince him to become a pacifist. I believe that was what jesus preached, although his message seems to have got lost in all the religious conflicts the christians and other "faiths" seem intent on pursuing.

Honey, I will. I can relate to your fear. My husband has been in Iraq for the past 9 months and it can be very, very, very difficult. Just be there for your friend. It seems she is very lucky to have you as her friend. You both will be in my daily prayers as well as everyone else going through this. God Bless!!!!!

I'd rather pray that peace and democracy are restored to the United States.

Father, please be with this guy who is going to serve our country. Bless him for helping to keep us free. Free to speak openly about our witness for Jesus Christ or whomever we feel has the words of life.

Comfort his daughter, give her peace that You will be right there with her dad, no matter what happens.

And bless this LDS girl who is thoughtful enough to pray for her friend.

It is going to be hard for him to be there, never knowing what will happen, and missing his family. The dorks, the ones who don't get it, and hate Bush, will also tend to demotivate those guys.

So, if you talk to him personally, ask her if she thinks its okay for you to write to him, too, maybe send cookies, soldiers in combat never get enough mail.
