If i were to write a book charting the 'miricles' of David Blane and such like, and threw in a few other stories, some of which i may decide to make up, then put some foney names and numbers at the top of each page, i bet there would be some stupid **** who would take it as gospel truth in a few hundred years time and mabee half the world will believe it and it will cause loads of wars and stuff. That would be a laugh.

Hitler said "the great masses of the people would sooner fall victim to a big lie than to a small one"

The Bible says:

2Ti 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
2Ti 4:4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

So essentially, yes someone would believe you as nowadays two things are believed > truth and outrageous lies.

no it would never catch on like the bible has , and will continue to do.. because it would not be inspired by God himself who worked through the people who wrote the bible.. there for any prophesies you were to through into it would overtime be pr oven void ..but if u look at the crisis in the middle east now and look at the countries involved and what the name of them countries were in past times you could see that prophecy is being fulfilled as i write this..plus if u were to throw in made up stories , there would be no witnesses to them , but if u notice throughout the new testament many witnesses were always present ...but if we want to say in 2000 yrs that the world trade center bombings were a made up story ..I'm sure people could be deceived enough to believe it...i mean its just a story right..

J Smith did just that back in about 1830 or so... still fool'n millions of otherwise good people. some woman named White did the same around 1900... still fool'n a whole lot too...way back about 340AD or so a bunch got together and made up their own rules and said God told them they could and started the Roman catholics. and just about took over the god business for over a thousand years...

Fortunatly there are always some of God's true people, who are not fooled, to carry on passing The Good News of God's promise to all.

Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

It would be a lie and then this scripture would apply to you...

Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Well he did a little more than that.
Noah survived a world flood.
Mosses parted the red sea
Jesus walked on water, raised the dead, healed the sick and blind. He was a real historical person.
And he died a martyers death.
So I guess after you do those things we will nail you to a stake and let you hang there til you die. then Ok maybe they will read the book.

At least the ancient writers had something to say, and could spell...you might want to have something of substance to say and be able to say it well. Even if you think God and religion is a bunch of hooey, there is much in the Bible that is great literature, and most people with any intelligence recognize that much at least.

The funny, but sad truth is that people probably would catch on to it and start a whole new religion around it. People these days believe anything and will go out of their way to defend something, they themselves aren't even sure about!!!!

It doesn't take that long. Scientology only took less than 20 years. Luckily, most people can tell that Scientology is a load of bull.

LOL, that's british humour if I ever heard it!
You'd have to put in loads of stuff to appeal to the human ego and sense of superiority over others too, though!

Erm, Shell? I think you missed the point of the question love...
