God is supposed to be almighty. This means he made the world like it is now *deliberately*. He is supposed to know everything, including what will happen next. He knows what choices someone will take, because he designed them to make THAT choice.
So, there are just a few possibilities:
1- God is not almighty
2- God is a sadist
3- God does not care about the world, does not mingle in human affairs, and will not punish the wiked because he made them wiked
4- God probably does not exist at all
I am a secular humanist, our belief ranges between 3 and 4. Myself, I am going for #4. And I will NOT burn in hell because there is NO hell. And believers will not go to heaven because there is NO heaven.
And we do good and respect others because it is the human thing to do. Being good is a reward in itself.

The Bible judges homosexuality for the reason it is demonic worship. Sodom and Gomorrah and the other two cities of the plain where Lot lived were demon worshippers. Modern archaeology supports this. The judges and lawyers of Sodom passed a law that basically said if any man came into their borders (or inside the city) there were "couches" set up. You could LEGALLY by force take a stranger and make him to lie down and have sexual relations with him. It was known in that day to be WORSHIP. If you do not believe this answer, go digging for the answer yourself. It is not hard to find, but it is hard to believe for homosexuals. Do not be fooled that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah were punished for their "inhospitality". That's a notion thought up by homosexuals in order to cast them in a less disfavorable light. Also the NIV (New International Version) goes easy on homosexuals. The reason? There were at least TWO openly gay members of the translation team who worked on the version. It is corrupted by post-modernism "scholars".

Hell is the first death. Gehenna is the second death. Fire is an illustration of destruction.
There is no eternal torture in the Bible. Ecc9:5, Rev. 20:14.
Deuteronomy 18:10 There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire,....
Jesus said if people did not repent they would be DESTROYED, (become EXTINCT),not Burn in Hell!!! Luke 13:5.
Who is beating gays? Who is torturing people??Who is insulting people?
God is not a Hypocrite!!!

Wat are you thinking
that God is hum,an or something
do u think that the Lord God is at our pithy levels?
I'm sorry but God's will is done.
I don't kno i just pray for all yall truly.
god has laid out some rules for us. Put them in the Bible and such
Preachers will preach wat they will ahve to preach and he that hath an ear will hear
God is giving you free will it is your choice to do wat is right you know the rules.
In the end, GOd will Judge.
According to wat you have done on Earth, you will be rewarded.
BUt even then, God loves us so much that he is giving us another chance. The tribulation.
Dude you CAN NOT try to understand everythign that God does he is Holy and mysterious. Its not upto u to start making out logically the things that the Lord is doing. YOu should fear him as in respect him.
Have Faith in Him
Trust in Him
tis pretty impressive to see that u read ur Bible
But read it well and understand it.
God is Love

I cant beleive it - Ive read so many responses, I can tell you what they will say - and that scares me!!
"God gave the f*g a choice, and he made the wrong one, so its not God doing the punishing - you made your choice..." But that then negates the theory of an all loving God, doesnt it? Doesnt the very concept of Hell negate an all loving God?? I mean, if God is trully all loving, wouldnt he accept an axe murdering, baby eating heathen as quickly as he accepts his own "children"???

God is the only one who knows what's in our hearts. Beating ANYBODY is wrong. I don't believe God would banish anyone to hell for the sole reason of being gay. I believe God looks at our entire lives and every thought and intention before he judges us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. If I go to hell, it's my own fault not God's. I think God has the right to judge us. After all, he is the creator of ALL things.

In this way, you could look at it like this. God may say that deserve to be tortured, but other people do not have a right to torture them - if they belong to God, then it is his right alone. It is up to you to be nice to everyone, forgiving, trying to show them the way, relentlessly. Let God do his part and you do yours.

when people beat homosexuals, they are victims because they dont have a chance. God gives all people a choice. That passage is a warning, and it gives people a chance to change.

People are not to take vengeance on other people, God said "Vengeance is mine".
Christians are to tell people about sin and what awaits sinners (eternal death). God will judge people according to what they know and what they reject.
