Knowing that alot of people on earth suffer. Is it wrong for me with an MBA in Finance, a CPA and a couple of six figures in the bank to be unhappy at the age of 32?

Thanks everyone for responding. I did decide a month ago to sponsor a child through Compassion International. If it goes well I will sponsor more.

I am a Christian. I promised God if He helped me get through the CPA exam; I would help others because of the gifts He gave me in life.

The fact is that you are finding out that money does not buy happiness. It is not wrong for you to be unhappy, it just means that something has to change. Try using your money to make someone-else's life better. Try sponsoring a child, or finding some other cause that makes you feel good. Get involved with your community, get to know those who are less fortunate. Help people anonymously and you will find it very rewarding.

You can't take it with you, but imagine all the experiences you can have with you forever if you make someone else's day/life better.

It is selfish, probably. Can I have some of your six figures? Just kidding. It depends on what's making you unhappy. Are you a Christian? If not, God can fill your void. He's the only thing. I sit right now, behind on many of my bills because my family is slowly recovering from a loss of income late last year, and through it all I have faith that God will get me through. It is one day at a time, and it is rough, but without Him I would be lost, I say that with complete conviction. If you haven't accepted Christ into your heart, maybe He is calling you to do just that. Let me know.

i think happiness is closely tied to what you put your hope in, so i guess it would depend on what you are putting your hope in.

Perspective wise- there are always people who are better or worse off than us.

It's not wrong- because you are expressing your genuine feeling and there is nothing wrong with feeling unhappy. It's a matter of how you choose to deal with that.

Happiness comes and go- in some ways you can call it "happen-ness" (your boss gives you a raise- your happy), you get a speeding ticket (your not happy).

Joy is being able to be happy even in the face of unhappy circumstances. True Joy comes from having a purpose in life that is larger than yourself- than can only come from God.

Feeling guilty about having money when others don't won't help you achieve happiness. Try reviewing your life, from your earliest memory forward and look for those things and times and people who made you the happiness. Make a vow to do something fun for yourself and maybe donate some time or money to some of those suffering people you think about.

Happiness is based on your circumstances. Real joy comes from the deep and powerful love of Jesus Christ.

Happiness is not the money you have, nor the dress you wear but Jesus in your heart can bring happiness.

Happiness doesn't come from what you have but what you do with what you have. Find your purpose and I think that you will find hapiness.
