How is it that illogical religions which give B.S answers to simple questions flourish?

Flat Earth
Mythical Flight to the Heavens,
Terra Centrism,
6000 year old earth,
Dinaosaurs sharing the earth with man,
Silly myths like the Fable of Noah's Ark, ( A floating methane bomb).
No Proof, just rhetorical trickery.

Why do people come to it by the droves?

Is it just that a sucker is born every minute?
People know that chances are they will lose their butts in Vegas, yet it draws millions of visitors per year??????

read up on what richard dawkins has to say about "memes". he came up with this idea back in the 70's that natural selection works on things other than just genes. memes are ideas (such as religions, customs, songs, jokes, fables, etc.) that can be selected or filtered out in similar manners, and which are subject to mutation (copying errors) and therefore have the tendency to become very refined and specialized after a certain amount of time.

so like,,,, christianity evolved from ancient judaism, which evolved from the mythology of that area mixed with themes borrowed from zoroastrianism. it's still evolving of course, and probably has been several hundred thousand years now in one form or another. so it's had all that time to become perfectly designed for appealing to a certain type of people.

natural selection is really, really crazy, and dawkins is a genius for having figured out its full potential. read up on it if you'd like.

stop spreading lies. scientists don't debate over whether or not the earth is 6k years old or if dinosaurs coexisted with human beings. only christians debate that sort of non-sense with scientists.

I wish I could answer your question one by one but I hope I could satisfy your questions with a simple answer. The Bible or the Old Testaments was written to cater to the minds of the people of the past just how the childrens' book today are carefully written.
Even scientific scholars would agree that our mind today is not as complex as the mind of people of the ancient times.
We are graced with airplanes, ships. land transportation, televisions, research people, scientists, sattelites that can look at the world's real shape and condition. Theirs were just based on dreams, visions, superstitons, stargazing, comets and what they believe as God's or angel's messages. We could only be thankful for people who left us many trails to search the truth.
Do not worry about the people who come by the droves, everyone will have their turn to learn and I am sure that by the way I read your concern, you are here in this world to contribute to their learnings. Even religions at present have their own scholars that tries to discover the scientific truth that will support their claim about the existence of an extreme being. As long as this religion exist to teach us the respect and love for one another maybe we could forgive them for the fantasies they have created.The truth later on will set us free from all of these.

6000 year old earth is being debated among scientists, without religious beliefs, with the 'old earth' scientists, and there's actually more evidence for the 6000 year old earth.

Same with the dinosaurs sharing the earth with man, and Noah's Flood... practically everyone believes that there WAS a huge flood on earth.

Don't be too sure that it's suckers who believe these things...
