What do you focus on? How can you focus on nothing when you are praying to the God of the universe? Doesn't your imagination play any part in this at all? Do you think about nothing when you focus or do you focus on nothing? Do you pray about nothing? Is God able to become nothing for those who pray? Is imagination a bad thing, since it was given to us by God?

Isn't it true that the Koran existed as a recited tradition and it is only after the death of Mohammed that it was collected in a book form? Please see http://www.derafsh-kaviyani.com/english/uthman&therecensionofthekoran.html.

Matthew 7:6 (Jesus talking)

"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."

I've never really thought about it before, but my mormon friend was telling me how he took an oath of secrecy for a lot of things in his religion and he used the verse as his explination of why.
what he says seems logically sound, but I don't believe it and it doesn't feel right for some reason. I don't believe that Jesus is saying that we have to be silent about something in our faith and i don't believe that he's excluding people from Heaven (as pearls have been representative of heaven in other verses). So what is he saying?

the verses sbefore it talk about judging others, but I don't see how this fits in with those.

someone help me with this.

ps. I'm not mormon, I'm protestant christian. so I'd like to hear other protestant christian responses, though anyone is certainly welcome.

I was in canada recently on a conoe trip and one night at about 9 pm (remember 9 pm) my crew decided to change our rout so we would go farther north than originally planned. The next day we ran into a crew of girls who the night before had one person slip on a rock while carrying a canoe and her spinal chord landed directly on a rock and she couldn't move here legs. Our crew made a stretcher for her and got her evacuated. (Heres the weird part) While talking to the girls' leader, we found out that the girl had been injured at about 9 pm the night before.

Tell me what you think, Personally I think that God directed us to that crew because in the area we were in the nearest town was about 100 miles away.

i'm decently educated on natural selection and other aspects of evolution. to me, it makes perfect sense.

so tell me what it is about it that you find so absurd. then,,, after a bit,, check back up on this question under the "additional details" and look for my personalized response to you. i will respond to every serious answer. so go ahead, and try to stump me.

Many times, one will ask a question simply because they are curious, or they are wondering how other people feel about a certain matter. Sometimes people will respond with something like, "I have a personal relationship with God, and it's sad that you don't." Oh please! Just because we are asking questions doesn't mean we don't know God. Most of the people on this board are very secure in their spiritual beliefs. How come when someone asks a question about religion, some people assume they are spiritually lost?

We have several friends that have even their infant daughters in ankle length skirts. I just don't see how the kids can play in clothes like that. On the other hand, some people look at our daughter as if she is not dressed modestly if she's in shorts and a t-shirt. At what point is a young girl dressed immodestly?
