We do. It is a C-Section. I had one and have the scar on my belly to prove it.

Gravity is a great help in the birthing process. The baby turns naturally in the womb and then drops down. The female body will open and expand to accommodate the head of the child. As a woman I am glad that they don't come out of my stomach. There is something very sad for women that opt to have a C-section over giving natural birth. I know some cannot do it naturally but for those that choose to go with the C-section to avoid pain or pointed head babies I just don't understand it. We haven't evolved into having zippers on our stomachs yet. I choose to go the natural route. To each their own.

Because they dont go in through the belly.
Seriously, it is the only way a woman can carry a baby and be bi-pedal.

well, i don't know about you, but people don't have a passageway from the uterus to the belly...would be a little difficult to fit it through a non existant hole
