This questions is open to everyone, however, I am most interested in finding out the purpose of life of those who don't accept Christ or believe in God. As a Christian, my purposed in life is to serve the Lord and live my life according to His word. It is also my purpose to find ways to be a blessing to others. The intent of this question is not to convert anyone into my way of thinking or stray from their beliefs. I view it as an opportunity to voice our opinions and learn from one another. Serious responses only please.

I have two catholic friends. They found out today that I'm a Christian. I didnt think it was going to be a big deal because I accepted they're religion without arguement or question. But when we started talking about it, they laughed at me and said that where they come from (Mexico) Christian women sleep around with everyone. I've never heard of this in my life and I was deeply offended. Is that a cultural thing? Is it just them that think that? or have I been left out of the loop somewhere?

yet you don't know Jesus.

Jesus said, "if you loved God, then you would love me."

"You don't know God, so you don't know me."

"If you were children of Abraham, then you would do as Abraham."

So what do you think this means now?

We all have our religious or non-religious beliefs. But I wonder why we can't argue in a reasonable fashion. I see so many religious questions that have christians going "blah blah..go to hell" and then you got atheists who " blah blah..you're ignorant, can't listen to reason etc." It is understandable that many people will try to pass on their beliefs to others and be quite stubborn about it. I am also strong in my christian beliefs as well, and I like to spread the word when I can. But must everyone be so bitter to each other... can't we touchy questions with civility and understanding. I know religion is a touchy subject, but let's try to get along.

Are they just dead--nonexistent..or does their soul reincarnate into some other soul. Is there such a thing as a soul? Why do we have no recollection of past lives? That would make you think when we die, we are truly dead..in the sense that we don't interfere with others' aura.

Belive in God, but they don't belive in Santa when they get old, and the Easter Bunny! There is no proof of any of them, as well as written documentation for all 3, so they must be true right?

I am a Christian-and I asked a question re:evolution/creation this morning and received very sincere and thoughtful responses from those on the Evolution side. I appreciate it.I hope we continue to communicate this way and I learned a great deal about your beliefs and theory.
Even though one responder expressed wonder at the compexity of our world I have to ask you about the void that is left - on two levels. There is still the unanswered question of somethng from nothing - which evolutionists candidly admit they do not know - but may some day. And doesn't believing that their is nothing greater, that this is all only the result of amino acids and heat-leave a place in your heart and spirit unfilled? I know God and in knowing him have peace in answers but also in the nature of the Creator - who I believe is loving, sovereign and gracious, with a plan and purpose for my life. We are beings with body, mind and spirit-and believing in evolution does not address the whole man, as God does.

Or even an atheist kibbutz, for Jewish atheists. I am not Jewish, but I could convert to Judaism first, then become an atheist, then join the kibbutz. I'm flexible.

I, myself, am agnostic. I have a few things I want to know.

If you are agnostic, I'd like to know what your theories and beliefs are.
In addition, I've not read the Bible and I'd like suggestions on where to begin.
Thirdly, if you have any interesting book recommendations regarding religion (any), I'd love to hear them. I've heard "Misquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman is a good read.
