I GUESS ITS THE WAY HE/SHE BALANCES THINGS OUT. WE HAD THE TSUNAMI, THEN KATRINA, THEN THE MUD SLIDES,WILD FIRES , FLOODS, EARTHQUAKES NOW THOUSANDS ARE DYING IN THE MIDDLE EAST. GOD MUST CREATE NATURAL DISASTERS TO BALANCE THE HUMAN DISASTERS WE CREATE OURSELVES IE 9-11, THE HOLOCAUST, ALL THE WARS WE HAVE STARTED AND JOINED ????? ONE WILL NEVER KNOW

God is always fair and just. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction in This world. We all go Through what we deserve and exactly the amount we do. In fact, God actually eliminates a lot of it with out us even coming to know. If I told you Katrina or Tsunami were probably 1/10 th of what you saw and it could have been 10 times worst then what actually came, would you still blame God? Right now, in your own life, the difficulties you think your facing, you have no idea how much of that is eliminated by the Divine Lord. So never blame God, never doubt God and always remember God is inside you, he is always watching you. Take care..God Bless

Because this is not a perfect world, as God intended it to be...please don't think I'm being cold, and to add a brighter note, God said, "I will not give you more than you are able to handle." Yes, the people who drowned in the Katrina catasrophe certainly suffered -- but when it would have become too much to bear, God took the anguish away, either by unconsciousness or a break from reality -- "this really isn't happening to me...." I know, that doesn't sound like the ideal way to assure someone in crisis, but again, in an imperfect and evil world, these people were given some way out. And think about all of us who pitched in to help; that's Christianity at its best.

Innocent people are dying all the time because unfortunately Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, which led to sin entering into the world through them. Basically by their disobedience they told God they felt they could do a better job at deciding what was right and what was wrong than he could. So God has stepped back and given them exactly what they asked for. He'll only let it go on until mankind has tried every form of government, thus proving that we are unable to rule ourselves. And regarding the point where God decides enough is enough, the Bible gives quite a few prophecies regarding what will be going on in the world around the time that he decides to take action.

If there is a God you won't be able to explain everything... after all if you could explain we'd be gods... there would be no God...
But since there is a God, some things can't be explained only guessed so I guess and the best way to find out is to focus on the outcomes...
Like we never knew we were't prepared to handle a catastrophe of that magnitude... Who knows, it might prepare us for the worse??
Another guess is that in a catastrophe like this people really become themselves... become equal... and become friends for life...
And another thing is that the innocent people are with God which we know is the better state. People suffer loss, but ultimatelly 'if' there is a God then they are in a better place already.
So my next conclusion will be that maybe God wants all of us to go there???
If I were God would I tell someone who doesn't even believe in me waht I think??? Even if I did, he would doubt it, or wouldn't care... so if we don't bother, why should he?....

Two reasons: Sin, and balance.
Sin because in the beginning, the Earth was perfect. There was never going to be any sorrow or pain, or death. Then, if you believe the story, Adam and Eve messed that up.
As a result of the first sin, there now has to be balance. Did it ever occur to you that some people die BECAUSE they're innocent? Other people die because they're wicked, and there really is no hope for them to change. But there are amazing, wonderful things happening in the world every day. It's balance. There has to be darkness before there's light. There has to be rain before the sun shines. There has to be winter before spring.
It's natural, and it all works out. Widen your sight. You'll see.

Emmie---I feel as though I am qualified to answer this question because your question makes a point of something that is not God's fault at all. As a resident of south Louisiana I can tell you that a lot of what happened down here was man's fault. Oh--the wind blew but we know it was going to. The levees failed and we knew that was a possibility. The water rose quickly but we live 12 feet below sea level. So when the wind blows, the levees fail and the water rises in an area that is 12 feet below sea level what do you think is going to happen. Don't get me wrong---Louisiana is a great place to live. New Orleans is full of history and great life. We have jazz, we have the Mississippi River, we have Bourbon Street, we have Mardi Gras. We also have free will.

Free will is what you saw on the late night news when Katrina came ashore and caught all those folks at home. Though we knew it was coming ashore in a town near us---we refused to vacate. WE refused to get on the buses. We refused to go to a place of safety. And as a result many people died. They are still finding dead bodies in homes that have not been searched since Katrina. And there are many more homes that still need to be searched. Even 11 months after Katrina came ashore.

There is a story about a man who listened to the radio----it said there was going to be a flood. But the fellow was a Christian and when the truck came by he said "no---God is going to protect me." Then the boat came as the waters rose and the man said "no--God is going to protect me." As he sat on his roof a helicopter came and asked the man to get in the helicopter. The man said "no----I believe in God--He is going to protect me." The man drowns and he goes to heaven and he looks at God and says, HEY---I believed in you. I thought you were going to protect me. And God said, "Who do you think sent the jeep, the boat and the helicopter?" Free will Emmie---we could have avoided lots of what happened down here. But there will always be natural disasters. Remember---mother nature doesn't ask permission---she just takes what she wants---when she wants it.

To keep this short, man turned away from God thus removing God from his life. This resulted in man taking all the consequences for all his actions upon himself. Since mankind is bent to doing evil the innocent die. When mankind turned from God all creation suffered as a result because God made man the ruler of it therefore storms and natural dissasters began to occur.

Hope that makes some sense.

People die because of original sin, and no one is truly innocent. Besides, Katrina was possibly compounded by global warming, so some of the blame lands squarely on humanities shoulders.

Death is part of life; always has been and always will be.

God created man and woman and placed them into the Garden of Eden with perfect bodies. Man and woman sinned and death entered into the world. We are all born to die.

How we die is a matter of health, circumstance, disease, accident, age, natural disaster, man made disaster, etc.. Death is not defined by guilt or innocence. No one is innocent. We are all sinners and we are all heirs to death.

How we live can make a lot of difference, however, in how we face death.

When the will of man aligns with the will of God, it will stop.

Guess what, that won't happen. So instead, we are headed for the last day. I am sure that you agree with this, whether you believe in God or not.

So, here is our job: one man can make a difference. Model the proper way even if nobody around you does or notices it. God knows and you know.
