Obviously, no one understands this question. Perhaps I'll dumb it down.

yeah, a fad lasting thousands of years, right?

a "fad", by definition, is something temporary, fleeting. Religion has been going on for thousands of years and is thus, not a fad. It will continue. It has always been very much in the forefront of people's lives, but now seems to be "news" when mentioned because it's not considered cool by a noisy minority --- those too self-centered and ignornant to look outside of themselves.

A bunch of religions, yes. I do not care at all for organized religion. Its a giant joke, played on the powerless by those seeking power. People are SOO easy to fool. And boy do many of those "people of God" like to judge and be in control!

Christianity has been around for almost 2000 years...how would anybody today have the ability to perpetuate past events? The fact that it HAS been around so long should tell you something.

Why not question those in power and keep questioning them. If they do not answer then you can assume they are not of God.

Remember in the last days people will claim to be of God, but they are really of Satan just to lead those that do not believe to a worse place.

In the Bible we as followers of those teachers who lead, we must question them or else be mislead too.

What does love have to do with power? What power are you talking about anyway?

God is all powerful and yet He chose not to use His power to control humankind. He gave us all Free Will.

It's not perpetuated by them - it's always been there. It's just that politicians have recently been taking advantage of it.
