The word "Messiah" is an English rendering of the Hebrew word "Mashiach", which means "Anointed." It usually refers to a person initiated into God's service by being anointed with oil. (Exodus 29:7, I Kings 1:39, II Kings 9:3)
Since every King and High Priest was anointed with oil, each may be referred to as "an anointed one" (a Mashiach or a Messiah). For example: "God forbid that I [David] should stretch out my hand against the Lord's Messiah [Saul]..." (I Samuel 26:11. Cf. II Samuel 23:1, Isaiah 45:1, Psalms 20:6)
Where does the Jewish concept of Messiah come from? One of the central themes of Biblical prophecy is the promise of a future age of perfection characterized by universal peace and recognition of God. (Isaiah 2:1-4; Zephaniah 3:9; Hosea 2:20-22; Amos 9:13-15; Isaiah 32:15-18, 60:15-18; Micah 4:1-4; Zechariah 8:23, 14:9; Jeremiah 31:33-34)
Many of these prophetic passages speak of a descendant of King David who will rule Israel during the age of perfection. (Isaiah 11:1-9; Jeremiah 23:5-6, 30:7-10, 33:14-16; Ezekiel 34:11-31, 37:21-28; Hosea 3:4-5)
Since every King is a Messiah, by convention, we refer to this future anointed king as The Messiah. The above is the only description in the Bible of a Davidic descendant who is to come in the future. We will recognize the Messiah by seeing who the King of Israel is at the time of complete universal perfection.

Because the bible tells you exactly HOW He will come. So if anyone comes claiming to be the Messiah, and he doesn't come the way the bible says the Messiah will, then he is the Antichrist.
I recommend that everyone read I and II Thessalonians and the Book of Revelation if you want an overview of the last days. Very good and important question you posed.

Read the Bible and follow the prophecy, it will all be fulfilled. If we are speaking in terms of Christian teaching, some believe the Christians will be raptured, will be taken before the tribulation begins. When people disappear, you will know the tribulation has begun. Soon, the antichrist will come and claim to be God. He will try to set up a one world government and one world religion. After 7 years, Christ will return to put an end to the anti-christ and the world as we know it. He will then set up his kingdom. So we don't know exactly when (but all prophecy has been fulfilled-so, it could be anytime or it could be 100 years from now) And if it lines up with the Bible, you will know it is true.

Many will be deceived by the false Messiah, But when the true Messiah comes everyone will know that it is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior
read your Bible and know the signs of the false profit so you'll not be deceived!
I would suggest reading the King James version!

He will come in the twinkling of an eye with a loud voice as a trumpet.
The dead in Christ will rise first and then those Christians who remain will be caught up with Him in the air.
Is this the Messiah you are looking for? First He came as a baby and He is coming back to take those of us who are saved, home with Him.
The Anti-Christ will deceive.

When the Lord's second coming is upon us, you will know. People who you know and love will just disappear for no reason. Thats means they have been raptured to heaven, and those left behind will be on earth for a while longer and will have to deal with the Anti Christ. Read Revelation in the bible.

When Jesus meets the saints in the air, that's the rapture, no one else will see him. When Jesus comes back to the earth the second time, there will be no mistaken him. He will come in defense of Israel and he will be on a white horse with the saints on white horses . There will be a massive earthquake, and all the army's of the earth are gathered to fight Israel, but Jesus will wipe them out.

Messiah? God? He or She?
Church? Christianity? Jesus? Dying?
What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?
(NOT A VIRGIN BIRTH! - Google Imacculate Conception. What else do you falsely believe? )
Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .
If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.
Gods do not die? Do they?
If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?
Did Jesus give up Saturday for us? Big deal!
If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.
If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!
Life after death is like virginity after childbirth.
If the flesh of Jesus died, what was seen walking and talking on Sunday?
If you swallow this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to swallow it too.
Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.
Believing and not thinking is like choosing a mental illness and becoming truly lost.

The Messiah, Jesus, came 2000 years ago, and he's returning soon for those who love him and are anticipating his return. If you don't love him, you'll be left behind, so you better get ready.
