I have mormon friends, married into a non-practicing Mormon family and still-no one will give me a straight answer.

I don't want any smart *** answers. I'm not insulting the faith (although I will never follow it. I would just like a straight forward answer if that's possible.

I read Gospel of John Chapter 1 first few verses, and the explanation is that because he was "in the beginning" and the "word" that he - Jesus - was without original sin. I don't understand, since I asked earlier in the week was Jesus there when God ddecided to destory Sodom, and was told no Jesus wasn't born.

Is it that he was born to the "virgin" Mary? And this means he is without original sin? If so, why does Matthew go through the trouble of telling us the geneology?

I do not understand Atheists and that they do not believe in our Heavenly Creator? Since Atheists do not believe in Heaven or Hell they think once they die that that is it, in the ground you go, end of story. How sad! My question is why, why do you believe the way you do? God is so good and will bless you richly if you just believe and have faith.

I'm a recovering alcoholic and have been going to AA meetings for 3 years. I previously had a period of sobriety in my life that lasted 9.

I relapsed during the past 3 years several times, and my belief is God is the only think that has kept me away from a drink. I've been sober a while, but I'm losing faith quickly.

The reason is that I'm very lonely. I haven't managed to make any friends, my ex-girlfriend left me a year ago and is sober now, and has tons of friends.

I have found women in recovery aren't interested in men in recovery, and women outside of AA don't want to date a recovering alcoholic.

I try very hard to trust that God has a plan for happiness for me some day, but I'm so lonely I haven't been happy for a year.

Why does God want me to be so lonely?

I mean, look at it this way.

Osama/MIddle Easterners see the Bush Admin, and hates all Americans and all Christians (which is un-Muslim) becasue he thinks they are all anti-Islam and materialist.

Americans see Osama and 9/11, and assume all Muslims are gun-weilding nutjobs (which is un-Christian, Matthew 7:1).

why do people like to stereotype?
was the Iraq war a result of religious ignorance on both sides?

about Dr. Martin Luther King? He was a devout Christian minister and used the MORAL AUTHORITY of his faith to shame America into seeing the injustice of racism and working to end it. He even gave his life for his cause, but NEVER gave in to violence and hatred. Truly Christ-like. He was not perfect (who is?), but he made this a better country and richly deserves the holiday honoring him.

Would he have been as successful, and convincing, without his faith? I don't think so. I think it gave him strength, and worked to convince others. I don't think he was a fool for believing, and I don't think he was a fraud just using religion to an end. And the phrase "you can't legislate morality" was first used by racists who said "why does the government have a right to tell me whom I have to hire?"

I have no idea what Dr. King thought of abortion or same-sex marriage, but do you think some of the "Christian bashers" in society fail to see the whole picture?

Is it just for unbelievers to go to hell?
Or even for someone who has done evil things in their life--is torture with no hope of an end just?

Why or why not?

If some of us were fighting over something in class like say a marble, a book or some sweets she would say, "Give me the blessed thing" it was in the tone of "Give me the FCUK'ing thing" you know!...and yet she would lecture us about saying things like "gosh" or "golly" or "gee" because she reckoned it was taking the name of the Lord in vain...what do you make of it?

And one day every one will rise from the dead when the Judgement day comes..But since it was impossible for the Pharisees to believe it and christianity started spreading around the world but evil cant see this and started to brainwash people that about new religion called Islam where u can marry more than twice and most of the voilence if done in the name of Allah will be forgiven..And the ones who were following Islam people didnt bother till the day came that these Muslims were in large numbers and started converting people with force which brought revolt against the Jews and christians..Jesus had already predicted there be lots of people coming in my name but do not follow him cause they are the ones who will say that God has sent me and will also take my name..But they are wolves in sheeps clothing trying to astray my sheep. But people are so strongly brainwashed by Muhammed and his books that now they are doomed but they have rejected christ.
