I believe that we are all part of "God" If you want to call it that. "God" is everything that "is" in my opinion. We were all created by and are a part of this amazing, beautiful, spiritual world. This religion doesnt require "faith" because it is all about appreciating "God's" creations which are right under your nose. All it requires are senses and you believe in it. "Faith" is for believeing in things that dont make sense. You can have spirituality and not believe in an organized religion. My spirituality is stronger then anybody of any organized religions i have met. "Faith" doesnt enter into my equation.
You have been conditioned to think that returning to the dust from which you came is an empty scary experience. You can see it as profound and spiritual if you want to. It is a beautiful thing to have your phisical body turned into a tree. Don't belittle that with your own narrow thinking.

I don't understand believers. Why should anyone believe in god? Some (very small amount of) food for thought:
it makes more sense that god was invented by rulers of nations ages ago that could not create the civilisation they wished, because they could not enforce the rules that they made. So they invent 'god' and say that he will punish you for breaking these rules.
What makes your god good? And what makes you different from the people who really believed in Thor and all those other random gods? They believed just as much as you do.
If you're interested, i used to be roman catholic - and a strong believer, then i just thought about things - so many things - that show how stupid organised religion seems, and now i have written off any of the major religions as possibilities, except maybe Buddhism. I wont go into it now but u can email me at good_oak@yahoo.com if you are interested in what i have to say. Make sure i can tell who you are from the subject, because i dont read mail i dont recognise.
Not all athiests believe the same thing, and in general, athough Athiests believe in nothing, they are happy to believe in anything - so long as it makes some sort of sense.

It's simply hard to believe that there is this great fairy tale land on the other side. Your side of the story seems so unreal. It is only made up to dismiss the harsh reality of death. There is no way that any palce like heaven could possibly exist. It's unfathomable. But if that's what gets you through the day, then go ahead and believe, I never want to tell anyone else what to think, nor should you. Just accept that people out there think and feel diferently.

I have seen too many hypocricies in religion to follow any of the belief strucktures or systems that exist. So far as "god" goes, where is the proof?? Some all powerful being just said "Hey, I think I'll create this place with these frail little beings and see what happens." I really doubt it. I think that it was more of a compilation of stories and wives tales that brought the bible together. If there truely was a god, why is it that he/she doesn't make himself/herself known like in the bible. No burning bush, no psycotic old man with a big boat, and no bastard child of "god" have occured since it was written in the bible. So, you tell me. Why do you belive???

Everything living dies, that's just the way things are. It's natural to want to live forever; but it's unreasonable to suppose that you will just because you belong to a club of people who all believe the same fairy tale.
I am convinced there is no god, no heaven, no hell, no supernatural being of any kind, because the evidence just isn't there.

If true, why did God give us a brain and the capacity to ask questions and have doubts?
If going to heaven is as easily accomplished as not to think, not to ask questions, to do exactly what we're told to do by other humans claiming to represent Him, all so we can sit at His feet for billions upon billions of years flattering His ego by singing His praises ad nauseum ad infinitum, why would God bother creating human beings rather than robots?
Meanwhile, those who have doubts and those who do all of the above but for some other God are to burn in Hell forever and ever, billions and billions of years ad infinitum.
I'd prefer to think it takes a rare and twisted mind to swallow all of that, but the evidence points to a reality where it is much easier for people to let others do their thinking than to question, wonder and have doubts about unjust authoritarianism.
If God is so "good", why burn my agnostic father in hell forever and expect me to worship God for such a thing? I'd rather burn in Hell with the father who loved me than sing the praises of a 'Father' who condemned him.
Fortunately my ability to think and question and doubt is unimpaired by such fear tactics. The universe is a much more benevolent place than a petulant, egotistical God would permit.

It is all the hogwash crap being forced upon them from people who do not practice what they preach.
Maybe if the approach is more encouraging rather than forced and in a logical and reasoning manner, perhaps, they may come around.
Don't tell what to do but rather show by example and leave to their own desire if to follow suite.

Sorry sister but god will not bless you more if you believe in him. He loves all his children alike. Even more. He will do more for the lost ones.
How do you know God exist? It would not be more honest to say that we do not know but that it seams more reasonable that he exist than he do not.
What we know of him. Who is god. We have just all wrong concepts, that is all we have.

Yes
Observation tells us that the brain ceases to function, which ends one's experience of the world and self, the other organs die, and the body decomposes.
