I have heard the news that Jewish rabbies gave a statement that killing civilians in Lebanon is ok as long as the ultimate goal is to protect teh state of Israel. Is this true?

I have a statue of the Goddess and the God on my altar. A lot of people tell me that I am worshipping idols and breaking one of the commandments. I don't ever listen, because I'm not Christian anyway, so that doesn't apply to me. However, it makes me wonder why many churches have a crucifix if idol-worshipping is bad.

Moses directed us to believe in the need for a blood atonement-right back to adam and eve having a animal slain to clothe them in its skin-and Isaiah again-said that He would come and die as our sacrifice for sins-Chapters 52 vs 13-53 vs 12 (700bce predicted wow!) "He shall be exaulted and be made very high-but first he will be marred more than any man(did u see the movies The passion of Christ, what about bob, everafter, and Jesus of Nazareth) the 53rd chapter goes on to say he would be despised and rejected a man of sorrows aquainted with our grief (bridge over troubled waters-song) and that all we like sheep have gone astray and that the Lord would make to light on him the iniquity of us all" i finally gave in and prayed his prayer- Im sorry for my sins-forgive me, come into my heart and be my friend to help me-amen" He said he knocks on our heart in Revelation 3 vs 19&20 and its sooo true ty david-please help and pray too if u will ohh yesss:)

I know for a fact that Jesus's name was not Jesus. In Greek it says Isa or Hebrew Iso. Jesus and his people did not speak English and neither did the previous Prophets of God.

All the other Prophets names were changed. There was no name back then such as John. It was Yahya.

Other Prophet 'Jacob' was Yaqub.

Other Prophet Joseph...was Yusuf...

I mainly want to know why Jesus name was changed. And why the Churches of today refer to him as Jesus and not Isa or Iso.

Is it because they have a one track and closed mind that does not want to be enlightened. Our forefathers were beaten and imprisoned for speaking out against homosexuality. So are we going back to the middle ages, where homosexuality was rampant and anyone speaking out against it was thrown to the lions?
Besides if you had the love of God in your heart would you not obey His commandment that "menkind shall not lie with woman kind, it is an abomination?" God does not change.

God made Man and Woman with sexual organs. He does not make filthy things. Why is it that some Protestant denominations seem to see even married sex as a dirty, sinful, thing? We Catholics see it as a gift from God that represents the Love He has for us.

I asked yesterday about prayer, and many shared stories of when they were sick and prayers were answered and they were healed.

My question is, what about the people who were sick, prayed in Jesus's name, other people prayed in Jesus's name, sincerely praying in Jesus's name, but the person died?

The reason I ask is my son is undergoing chemotherapy. I have an excel spreadsheet with people who are praying for my son, and out of the 207 persons I have on this spreadsheet, 198 of them do so in Jesus's name. Things have taken a turn for the worse and currently my son is losing weight and his hair, and while we continue to pray sincerely in Jesus's name, how shall I interpret God's response if my son dies?

I'm not listing my political or religious views, just want to know if any exists. If so, what are your beliefs, and do they differ at all from the Democratic agendas.

What's up with Trinity and One God?... Answers to the “Part 1” of my question showed that you could only believe in one of the two points raised by my question: Either God is one or God is a Trinity. You simply cannot believe in both. Most detailed answers presented metaphors to explain how three equals one. Ok, by itself, Trinity seems just fine. John, Jane and their son Joe are three distinct persons but they are one family. That is fine, but they are not one “Person”. They are three distinct persons. True, together they form a family but a family is not a person. So The Father, The Son and The Ghost are three distinct Gods, and yes, together they form a “family” of Gods, but not a single God. So by looking at Trinity in a vacuum, it makes good sense. There are three distinct Gods, and together they form the Godhead. But they are still three persons, acting in agreement but not physically one. To make them one physically, people start using metaphors and long-winded jargon.

Those of you believers can flame all you want, I don't care.

I think the people of the time of the bible's creation were quite out of hand and almost anarchist. Therefore, the priests were called to put together the bible and to cushion the rules in stories and allegory to make people follow them. The most important part was the consequence of hell. Their eternal soul would be damned and punished forever if they did not obey these rules. The greatest control a government has over it's people is fear. Short of killing the people outright, telling them that the things they were doing damned their souls to a fiery hell for infinity was the only thing that kept them in line.

Anytime I see a question dealing with evolving, I see a lot of answers from Christians arguing its validity and just plain going nuts, when by definition it is just a term… Can’t we say that since biblical times we have evolved into a modern, technological society?
And if we have obviously grown into this technological marvel and it is all God’s plan, then why didn’t he start it way back? Why did he wait until now to share it, I bet Jesus would have loved to have a cell phone! So have we “evolved” into this technological human and if we didn’t then why didn’t God give it to those folks in the Bible?

a few days ago one of my neighbors passed away. we were not close neighbors. we would wave to each other when we saw one another and say a few plesentries. he and his wife had only moved in a few months ago and i am usally quite busy.

yesterday when i arrived home from work and picking up my two year old from day care, his wife was outside. i went over to tell her how sorry i was for her lose. she thanked me, and we talked about my son and her husband for a while.

after a few minutes i could see the tears starting to well up in her eyes. she had told me that her husband and her used to enjoy watching my kids play outside. after a few minutes. she asked if i thought her husband was in heaven. i am an atheist and do not believe in heaven. not wanting to hurt her feelings, i said yes. she then asked if i would pray with her. again not wanting to hurt her , i pretended to pray with her.

do you believe, what i did was wrong.
