Is it because they have a one track and closed mind that does not want to be enlightened. Our forefathers were beaten and imprisoned for speaking out against homosexuality. So are we going back to the middle ages, where homosexuality was rampant and anyone speaking out against it was thrown to the lions?
Besides if you had the love of God in your heart would you not obey His commandment that "menkind shall not lie with woman kind, it is an abomination?" God does not change.

Homosexuals simply reject God's principles of marriage. Your psuedo scripture you tried to quote doesn't exist. You are true in saying God doesn't change, He will still judge those who have chosen the paths that lead away from Him.

You ask a question that generalizes an entire diverse group of humans on our planet and then answer it in the next sentence, so I doubt you really want an answer. However, as a ****, I will tell you that I can't speak for anyone but me. Your forefathers were not beaten for speaking out against homosexuality. Never heard it nor is it documented anywhere. Speaking out about anything should never be punishable because we should all have the right to freedom of speech regardless of how idiotic it may be perceived. I do not fear God. I don't fear anything or anyone I cannot see or understand. If I fear something I avoid it and I don't avoid God. I also don't look for God in the old testament where you found your overused and over rated quote. Perhaps you were just programmed by your religion to believe that mankind shall not lie with another man (not woman as you said). That comes from Leviticus in the old testament. The same book clearly states that if you eat shell fish you are going to hell. It also says it's okay to keep slaves as long as they are not from a neighboring country. It encourages us to stone our neighbors if they work on the Sabbath as well. If you like pork or even touch a pig skin you are damned to hell. Sin doesn't have a sliding scale and everyone is guilty of sin according to Christianity. So you can't single out one sin in favor of another unless you are trying to come to terms with your own hidden insecurities about it. God may not change. I haven't seen her/him/it so I wouldn't be able to make such a statement. Neither have nor can you or anyone else. The bible is what doesn't change, but it is not the timeless document you think it is either. If it was then we would all be legally stoning our neighbors every Sunday morning when they get in their car to go to work. Ask yourself if everything you read in the bible makes sense to you and when you come to the conclusion that it really doesn't, use the intelligence that God gave you to find the answers to the questions based on what you do know. Statistically 1 in 10 people are gay. Jesus lived with 12 men. Jesus never said a word against homosexuality and there is a good chance that at least one of those 12 was gay. All I can say is that it probably wasn't Judas.

What in the hell are you talking about?
Being gay is just like anything else: your skin color, your personality, your hair color... it's what you're born with!!
Oh... I still don't get why people don't get this!
Listen, I used to be a Christian. I always felt like, if being gay was such a friggin' horrendous sin ( and I do not feel it's a sin) then, it should have been in the 10 commandments if it was that gosh darned terrible. Right?
Actually spend some time with gay individuals. You'll see that's just WHO they are and there's no way around it.
EDITED, see below!!!
P.S. God does not change? Ok, then explain why it was ok for Adam & Eve's children to have sex with each other (brother and sister) in order to reproduce? I've been told by many Christians that god's laws changed since that time and that incest is no longer accepted but it was ok at that point. So, God DID change. Secondly... um, men had more than one wife back then... perfectly acceptable in God's eyes at the time. But now? Not acceptable for most. See, God DID change!!!!
I'm not a Christian anymore, but I'm just repeating what other Christians have said to me.
Stop the hate... Christians aren't supposed to hate.

our first problem is the classification of homosexuals as a group, rather than as an act performed by regular people. Sex is something that is performed by choice, and should not define us as people. So, the question should be, do people that continue to perform in sexual activity that God views as an abomination have no fear or love of God?
Now, I do think that a good percentage of people who perform gay acts to feel a certain amount of fear from God, as evidenced by the various groups that have formed to support "gay" people who have turned "straight". But be careful before you get too judgemental. Gayism is a sin. But so is masterbation, and must of us masterbate. So is eating food with blood in it, or not doing your hair like those traditional jews.
And while God may not change, or understanding of what he wants for us does. God gave very basic commandments to Adam and Eve. He then got a little more detailed with Moses. And Finally Jesus was sent to give us more detail. Remember, Jesus himself never said anything against homosexuality, and it was prevelent in those days.

Interestingly, neither the Torah nor the rabbinic tradition has much to say concerning lesbian relationships. It is the male's "spilling of seed" anywhere other than in the usual "place" that is seen as a sin).
Many Jews (and others) believe that the traditional laws against homosexuality originated in a more ritual context, since, for the most part, the word "ABOMINATION" was applied MORE IN THE RITUAL SPHERE OF LIFE than the ETHICAL.
Biblical prophets and tradition make no reference to homosexuality in the sins of Sodom and Gemmorah, which they regard as cruelty and lack of hospitality to the "stranger" - xenophobia, as it were.
Reform Judaism and intelligent members of other religions view the traditional prohibitions against homosexuality as mores from a bygone age, mores now replaced with clearer understandings of the reality of gender orientation as something which is beyond simple individual "preference."

Do you have no fear of God when you sin? When you do something wrong or something that isn't sanctioned by the bible does it mean that you don't love God? People sin in all kinds of ways, and if you believe that homosexuality is a sin, then you know that God forgives every sin, not just the ones that man is okay with. I can guarantee that you have not always obeyed his commandments, but that doesn't change the love that you have for Him.

A God who does not change with the times is a God who is doomed to extinction. And where the hell did you learn your history at? Beaten and imprisoned for speaking out against homosexuality? Thrown to the lions? If I recall it was the opposite.

It depends on the person. I can see how some gay people can become atheists though, since if god "loves" us all, then why does he hate gays?
Also, have you seen that computer commercial (I think it's either IBM or Microsoft) with outdated business people who are on display at the natural history museum? Yeah, times are changing and so should the christian faith or else they'll be right beside the businessman who was using an adding machine in the 90s.

When were people punished for speaking out against homosexuals? And to answer your question, I guess it depends on the homosexual.
I think you should work on your own fear and love for God rather than worry about other peoples' beliefs. You're not supposed to judge people, and that's what you're doing. Before you point fingers at other people telling them that they stink, explain the **** stains on your face.

I have a great love of God and am deeply devoted to God. My mind is not closed at all. It is very open to receiving God and I definately strive towards enlightenment. God has never spoken ill to me nor caused me harm. He has always guided me. The commandment you speak of comes from Leviticus in the Torah/Bible. I am a Hindu and God has never made such commandments there. Yet God is eternal, changeless, timeless. God is to be seen all around us and in every person and we should always be striving to see God in everyone and to treat them as we treat God. To keep our minds focused on God in everything we do, everything (combing our hair, brushing our teeth, taking a bath, driving our cars, doing our work, sleeping, etc). Meditate on God, sing of God, do puja to God, etc, etc, etc.
"Even if love has a worldly touch in the beginning, it can reach the highest peak of purity if it becomes one-pointed and selfless." Sri Mata Amritanandamayi
I am a member of a religious order of Hindus, a member of a Hindu organization, and I help organize a local satsang where I live for others (Hindus and nonHindus) to come and fellowship, celebrate, and share their journey and experiences of God. I am not detached or seperated from God and I have a great and awesome love for God, whom I have a personal relationship with. And I am a homosexual.
Peace be with you.
