I'm not listing my political or religious views, just want to know if any exists. If so, what are your beliefs, and do they differ at all from the Democratic agendas.

ok, after reading some of the answers...
This is NOT a silly question.
Every day (or, alot of the time)...
I hear how the republicans are "oh so close to God" and have all the "Christian" beliefs in mind and "Democrats" dont. How liberals are so evil and dont agree with things like pro-life or banning gay marriage etc....so...they must be evil.
Who has something to say about that?
Which is the more "Christian" political party?

I would argue that most Christians in "deed not word" are more likely Democrat rather than Republican. Where as most Christians in "word not deed" are Republican rather than Democrat. Jesus was the biggest bleeding heart Liberal of all time. Anyone living life by his example, would more than likely be a Democrat. I know I'll get slack about this by Christian Republicans though. But just to let you know, I do think that there are allot of "deed not word" Christians that consider themselves Republicans, but I think that's more because they believe the propaganda that a true Christian can't be a Democrat. Personally, I don't believe that either side has the right idea. Some might call me a fence rider, but I would argue that the fence shouldn't be up, and I'm more of a fence smasher. I want to tear down the wall between both sides to unite everyone.

Also, I would argue that Closeness to God and political offilliation have nothing to do with each other. Jesus taught to turn the other cheek, where as in the Old Testament, it says an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. I'd say Republicans are more for the OT version of God, where as Democrats are more for the NT version, Christ. Democrats are pro-choice and not against gay marriage because they believe in freedom of the individual. Democratic Christians believe that Jesus would have wanted us to allow others to choose for themselves and not for the government to force them into a particular way of being.

First off....I am a practicing Christian, not just a "I believe in God" type, so I know what I'm talking about.

God gives all mankind freewill. (In the Bible) Paul writes that all things are permissible but not all things are beneficial (paraphrased). In the Bible, there is a very definite path that is laid out for believers to follow. The Republican party leans more strictly toward that path, but it's not perfect by any means. By the same token, there are some good qualities in the Democratic party's platform, and some beliefs of the platform that rubs very strongly against the grain of the Bible.

Depending on how strongly a Christian feels compelled toward one "issue" or another is how they will chose to vote, just like any other. Having said that, yes, there are Christian Democrats. A Christian should vote for the candidate that will serve the country the way God would have it. In order to decide that, Christians need to put their opinions aside and pray about it because God's Spirit should lead their decision, not themselves.

OPINION: The Republican Party is the most Biblically-sound party. I know some Christian Democrats who say the opposite, but hey, I still love them in Christ's love. The Bible says a house divided will fall, so Christians just need to love one another despite their differences.

I'm a Christian Democrat and my personal beliefs? The biggest one is that I'm Pro Choice. As a Christian I will never have an abortion but because not everyone is Christian or if they are and they think it's ok, it should be available. I personally don't like Christian issues in government. I believe in seperation of church and state

The majority of Democrats are Christian. Most Christians who are Democrats do not want to shove their beliefs down the throats of other people the way Republican Christians do. Democrats believe in personal religion, not state religion, and they believe that it is up to the individual to decide what to believe in.

Well, over 80% of the country claim to be Christians and about 30% of the country are Democrats (and about 30% Repubs, the rest independent or not registered). So, I'd say so.

No, democratic policy are incompatible with christian doctrine.
To those who claim "democrats just want to help people" you haven't even looked at what they do versus what they say. I know of people who claim to be christians while being democrats and either they almost never vote or vote democrat

Christ was a liberal.

Think about the things he said and did and the truth to that statement becomes obvious. Christian Republicans are being fooled by Satan to think that conservativism is more aligned with Christ, but in reality, it's more in line with the cold, loveless, selfishness of evil.

Yes, of course there is, but there's no such thing as a "compassionate conservative." They spew some of the most hate-filled bigotry I have ever heard. WWJD?
