Serious question. I've seen a lot of posts just there to spew hate, spit out nasty slander, and throw stones at individuals or groups.

How can we improve the level of dialog in this forum and help to eliminate the childish and foolish comments/questions that are posted?

(I'm not talking about people who disagree with questions. I'm talking about the idiotic responses and posts that seem to be posted on a regular basis.)

i mean not to be insulting or anything, my opinion is that you would have more benefits on a religion..
for instance, lets say that all beliefs are bunch BS and when people die, they just vanish, well i guess people would have wasted their sunday morning on some dumb stuff..
what if lets say christianity was accurate what would happen to all the other none christians?

I have often heard from many believers that even Satan has a presence in the church, which is why even in church people can still have impure thoughts. If Satan can find his way in the church, how do Christians know that Satan didn't find his way into the Bible and twist the whole book? After all, men did vote on which books would make the Holy Bible.

I've heard that when Jesus died, he took away all the dietary laws that are still practiced among many observant days today. I also heard that some strict Christians abide by those dietary laws.

The bible prophecies about a great war against Israel in the last days. Israel will be protected and a peace covenant will be signed by a world leader promising that Isreal will be allowed to live peacefully. The signing of the peace covenant will usher in the 7 year tribulation and the antichrist will be the world leader who signs the peace covenant with Israel.

If you don't believe in prayer, how can you be upset over something you believe doesn't exist? If you take offense and reject my prayers by saying I'm doing something to you against your will, can you prove I have affected you? If you, as one prev. answer said, paint my barn a hideous color, you have materially affected me. If the object of my prayer is to bring good things to you, why are you mad, especially since I have done nothing to materially affect you? If you burn a Bible in my name, as one prev. answer said, that does not bother me because I had nothing to do with it and you cannot act in my name.

Logically, the creation story makes no sense at all. It just says that a series of miraculous events happened, and that they are beyond our comprehension. Evolution says that a bunch of likely things happened, and although we may not know every specific detail we have uncovered an ecological phenomenom that takes eons. Please help me understand, thank you.

I have often heard that faith is all that is neccessary to believe in God and accept the Bible as true. If this is true aren't all supernatural beliefs true since they also require "faith"?

This is a direct quote from someone called 'NB_Girl'

"I have two questions for you:
If we all came from monkeys, why is there still monkeys on earth
and, why are we not evolving from monkeys now. instead we reproduce children within our own bodies, so why did we stop evolving from monkeys?"

Now I ask you, how is someone like myself, or anyone else who studies the Science of Evolution supposed to answer such an inane question?
No, really? How?
When dealing with someone so profoundly ignorant, how am I expected to dumb down the explanation to the point where this person can understand? I submit that it is impossible.
I mean honestly, look at the question!
NB_Girl, let me try and explain it to you. Humans (us) and monkeys (primates) all share a common ancestor. We did not evolve from apes or chimpanzees, they are related to us by common ancestry. That's why we share 99.983% of our DNA with them.
I hope this clears things up for you, though I highly doubt it...

Many Christians believe that God is a thinking being, that he solves problems and makes a way for them when troubles come. Does God Think? If God is thinking, did he know his thoughts before he thought them? If so, again, where is his freewill and how is God thinking at all if everything seems to be one uncontrollable action/thoughts.

- I'd say a God cannot think at all. To do so, would strip him of omniscience. Thinking is a temporal process. ON GOD'S ATEMPORALITY

YOU DONT KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING UNLESS YOU KNOW WHERE YOU BEEN

The slave mentality has trickled down from one generation to the next. You didnt dwell on slavery enough to know that

I'll forget about the pass when

You stop calling eachother "******" in HATEFUL ways

You stop wearing fake hair because you hate your own hair because of slavery conditioning

You rid that negative self image of belig proud of being pimps, drug dealers, thugs and gansters

OBVIOUSLY, WE HAVEN'T DWELLED ON SLAVERY ENOUGH BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T LEARNED ANYTHING FROM IT

DWELLING LEADS TO THINKING AND LEARNING

Basically Hezbollah was founded by Iran’s regime at first just to terrorising the region because their main slogan has always been to wipe up Israel from the region .
And now they asking Hezbollah to attack Israel to re-direct the international attention from their Nuclear crisis, as part of the deal. At the end is just ordinary innocent people will be killed not the leader of Islamic groups which just spread hatred in the region and world. The main way to stop violence and hatred is to help Iranian people to get rid of state terrorist that oppressed them daily. But the question is why some of European country do back Iran’s regime indirectly because of their economic interest?

I'd really like to know the best way to do this without everyone, including those in my community, looking down on me. There are some in my family that know already, like my sister-in-law, but coming out to my parents, in-laws and the like just scares me. I also live in a very small southern town, and I'd like to be left alone. I have not came out yet mainly b/c my son starts school here this year, and I don't want him to be bothered or made fun of because of the way I believe. My husband is fine with it, too, by the way.

I'd like to know what you all think. Christians, you can answer if it's helpful to me. Please don't preach, b/c you can't change my mind about what I believe. Pagans, Wiccans or anyone who has been in a similar situation, I'd love to hear how you handled it and what happened, etc.

Thank you in advance!!!!

Why are some muslims so touchy about their faith? if their belief is strong then why be influenced by angry bitter clerics? instead be more happy in their faith and celebrate life, instead of looking towards a martyed end.
