I have often heard that faith is all that is neccessary to believe in God and accept the Bible as true. If this is true aren't all supernatural beliefs true since they also require "faith"?

1.) A prerequisite to believe in a Faith is faith.
2.) Having faith is all that is required to accept a Faith (belief) as true.
3.) All Faiths are true.

Of course all Faiths aren`t true, but this is the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from a person that states that, "Faith" is how one knows God.]

Faith is the belief in the unseen and that which has not happened.

We all have faith.

We all go to bed, expecting to get up later. That's faith. Many people go to bed and die in their sleep. Yet, we continue to go to sleep believing we'll rise. That is faith because we have no concrete and emperical evidence that will we wake.

The reason there is such debate about the existence of God is that it cannot be proved or disproved either way.
To accept a religion (or any theory) without scientific or measurable evidence one needs faith. So the only 'truth' we can derive from any religious belief is personal truth.

In that case, we each have the potential to accept any religion as 'true', in our personal opinion. So, yes, any religion could be described as 'true'.

I believe the problem here isn't the fallibility of the religions, or of the people that follow them, but the limit of our language to describe what is 'true'.

Oh, and by the way I am thiest.

What faith is, is sadly misunderstood.
Most will tell you it has to do with believing even though there is no basis for belief.
Quit the opposite is true.
Have a peak at Romans 10:17.
"Faith FOLLOWS the thing heard......"
One hears, one reads, one studies and their faith is built up.
Faith grows as we PROVE to ourselves that what Jesus said is true.
Faith doesn't come first, it follows ....just as in any good scientific research.

poor premise...Faith is NEEDED (and rewarded, btw) to believe in God when things don't go your way or when you doubt God's existance.

What is REQUIRED is to either accept Jesus in whatever capacity your "faith" calls for or to OBEY God's laws(i.e. Mosaic)

Faith is not REQUIRED by those who already believe, but rather by skeptics like yourself.

First your faith is in men that wrote bibles. Second, your faith is in men who edited bibles. Third, your faith is in men who wrote down the oral stories. Fourth, your faith is in men who tell which bible to read. Fifth, your faith is in men who tell you what bibles"really"mean.
