Well, just put a sing in the door.

We don't go knocking on doors, specially on early mornings. Most people in these days know the truth and they know their way to church.. So when someone visit us, we ask them nicely if they want a visit.

Other ways we evangelist is by walking in the streets and handle pamphlets, if they trow it away..oh well, something was given.
We preach the gospels at all times when we see an opportunity. But no, we don't go knocking doors to doors, I considered that very disrespectful.. Specially knowing that people work many hours, and when they are home, they have something to do.

They do have some success at this, albeit a very small percentage. They do this because they are told they are not only responsible for their own salvation but the lives of others. They can be held accountable if they do not preach. They also think that since Jesus and his followers go door to door they should too, even though there are much better means today.

To help you understand the knock on the door -

Their is a loving call to duty to try and warn everyone of what lies ahead in a beautiful paradise earth that will be realized some day by those that care to learn more about God and his son.

Of course, just like the peddlers, you do not have to answer the door.

Because they're free to do so. I like the freedom, hate the inconvenience. I'm not a believer that religion should be sold door to door, but I appreciate the fact that I live in a country where we can do it without getting arrested or beheaded.

Still, I hear you. I groan every time they come knocking.

we don't want you to become a "member". We only want to teach you to look to the Bilbe and God for the answers to your questions.
And also we do it because that is what God told us to do. Matthew 24:14 “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come"
How did Jesus preach? Did he stay in one place or did he travel around from house to house village to village? And what did most people think of Jesus during his time? 11
“Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. 12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU." Psalms 5:11

They follow in Jesus' steps. One of the things he and the apostles did was go door to door, house to house.
The pastors and priests of most professing christian religions today wishes their sheep would do the same thing. Luke 10:1 Acts 5:42, Acts20:20

Why would a religious group want people that can be so easially swayed by a knock on the door to join there religion?

Well the Piegans just want people to enjoy delicious baked goods and personally I didn't agree with the door to door thing. I just didn't see it going over big with the folk trying to get them to eat blueberry when they like lemon meringue! "Come on now!" I said to the High Baker Bart, "Let the people choose the baked goods they worship themselves." but the power has gone straight to his head. So if a Pie man ( they are the real die hards, oh my yes! ) shows upon your door please forgive us for this zeal ( although if they have those molasse cookies you've just got to try one! ), each must find their own way back to the crust. I hope your day is blessed with a donut, or whatever you like. Take care.

This is one of my "sore subjects". I don't know why they do it but I can tell you what I do when they show up. I tell them that I don't go to their homes trying to push my religion on them and I would expect the same courtesy from them. Then I shut the door and say rather loudly, "Good dogs!" to my dogs who were barking viciously the entire time.

A friend of mine who used to belong to one of these groups will invite them in and turn their entire religion around on them. He knows more about it than they do. He can take anything they say and quote back something that proves their statement false. He loves doing this. I don't know if he's converted any of them but he sure has fun trying.

No one can get you to join anything but God. These people are only trying to share their faith with those that may have an interest in heavenly things. If you don't have an interest, leave a note on the door or politely tell them you are not interested and not to come back. No need to get nasty with them or get angry about it.
