My friends tell me it was Jesus, but I'm wondering if there was anyone before him. Does anyone know?

Perhaps if he explained himself I could see if I understand it.

To preempt the 'it says so in the bible' answers which you are going to give anyway....
If god is so massive and powerful and beyond comprehension, even if he were to speak directly to people, people would still completely screw it up. People have 1000s of interpretations of this 'god' character and none of them agree. Isn't this proof that none of your religions could be right? If god were able to communicate his desires for humanity, wouldn't he find a much more practical way than telling various cultures around the world a bunch of contradictory information?

What can a Dragon do to you anyway, unless of course the Dragon is real? Does the Dragon fly for you right now?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Parasitism is an interaction between two organisms, in which one organism (the parasite) benefits .
In parasitism, the relationship between the two organisms is particularly close (the parasite typically lives within or upon the host."
Since GOD create everything and everything is a god. We don't produce or create anything. We just using and utulising what was created ( according to bible) . Aren't we are the parasites than?

Therefore GOD knew what i will ask before he create anything and he isnpired me to do just that.

Put a law license on your vehicle, then plug a law parking meter, and watch what happens when time expires: Penalty! Pay more than just the fees for license and insurance, more than just the money you put in the meter, more troll tolls, or else go to jail, or worse yet, to law law heavens where it's continually law law no matter whether left or right of such law/law many say is right only.

Perhaps God did not even send his Son till the fulness of the time for such Mosaic law law had expired; And perhaps God did not send his Son to accuse(law) anyone(Jn 5:45) nor to condemn(law) the world to more of such Mt 22: 36-40 law law. But rather that through him (through Jesus->Christ) the world might be saved(only) by grace(only) in Christ: the end of the law, in Christ our peace who hath abolished the law(enmity), for in Christ there is no sin, because in Christ there is no law to impute sin, hence no death sting of sin nor any hell following a Death rider which rode in on a pale(law) horse

GOd has been softening my heart and as a result I feel the hurt and pain I have been trying to fight for years.

In one way I hated and still hate all that has happened, in other ways I feel very hurt and overlooked and mistreated.

In still another way at the same time I feel hope that God will see me through and although I feel bruised I know the bruise can find a refruge in the Lord.

How have you gone through these tough time and how where you able to cope. I am tired of feeling this way and in some ways never allowed to be human growing up. Nice girsl dont talk back, wait until there married, dont make waves, and lets others have the last say. This is the way in some ways how I was raised.

I want deiverance I want my promised land.

I have been a student of, well, many things. Of particular interest is how our society has grown and changed over time. I am curious what people think of the idea that religion, in its current form, specifically Christian/Jewish/Islam, has evolved for older, simpler religions. That as societies get more complex, so do religions. Growing/adapting to new experiences or discoveries about nature.

Here is another question. If this evolution of religion is true, does that mean any religion will eventually evolve into a single-diety religion?

why do you people do this...you write something about your religion or belief and know that others will offend you in some way...theres no use in convincing them....instead you're getting your religion abused...dont you think...so give it up!!

well this isn't directed toward any church in particular, it's just that a majority of my life, I have been going to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints off and on. There are a lot of nice people there, but once in a while there will be a bad apple.

They will pretend to be nice and genuin with you, come to find out later on, about a week or two maybe even a month, I will see right through them and their demeanor. They weren't the nicest people in the world. They allowed themselves to become religiouse finatics at the same time allowing themselves to forget what was most important. Compassion, Family, Friends, Respect.

Instead they have become overly critical and selfish. They carry this attitude like they are one of the best christians alive and everyone should follow in their footsteps. Truth of it is, they have no right to act this way or hold that attitude or status when they aren't being perfect themselves but they think they are. Who are they kidding?

have you ever wondered why every ethnic..tribal..cultural group on earth has some kind of a belief system we can loosely call a religion. whether it be worshiping a god..animal the sun ect..ect.. does'nt that sound like something evolutionary going on....that maybe man is predisposed to believe in something larger then himself to cope with the day to day survival that the early humans would have experianced.

Maybe some of the founding fathers followed Christianity in some form or another, but the main architects of the constitution and the bill of rights were definatlely not Christians.

Thomas Jefferson was a Deist. When he wrote about god he mean the Deist view of god = nature, not Jehovah or Jesus. He even wrote his own version of the gospels that removed all reference to theism and left only the moral teaching of Jesus.

Benjamin Franklin was a Deist. His friend Thomas Paine was an ardent opponent of the bible. George Washington was considered a Deist by his own Christian Pastor. (He was a member of the Christian church in Virginia because membership was MANDATORY in colonial days).

The first six presidents of this country were Deists or Unitarians. John Adams and Congress enacted the treaty of Tripoli that said in plain English that America was not a Christian nation.

So why do so many people use the fallacious statement that "This country was founded Christian."??

So I asked a question about Eve and got a tounge lashing by some of the Christians ont he site. One told me God hates me - the other called me an idiot and then made fun of me.

Is this really the type of witnessing that you want to do to people trying to understand your faith?

I grew up Baptist and have really been missing fellowshipping with Christians. I am gay and I figure that is between me and God to figure out later. I did want to provoke some discussions and maybe enlighten some of you on my views. But after reading those entires it just sets me back again and I feel like pulling away from a vengeful God and a vicious congregation.

What is a person to do if they want to fellowship but they are not perfect? I am hoping to find a God and a congregation that can accept me for my heart and not judge me so quickly.

Any suggestions?
