I am here because my parents had sex. When I die, my body will rot and my mind will be extinguished. Just like when you turn off a computer. I'm sorry if you don't like that answer, but it is completely TRUE.

The easy part first. I got here the same way you did. A bio. 101 course should suffice for the rest of the details on the event itself.

Why am am I here? It's fine if you want to assume there has to be a "purpose" for your existence. But why would you think I have to share such grandiose ideas?

Many of us believe we live out our lives as best we can in a moral way and that's the end of it. No heaven where a big daddy gives us candy for all eternity and no hell to be tortured in because daddy didn't like us. And after that? You probably suspect what the answer really is anyway, don't you? There is no "after." Scary, huh?

Um...eat, yes. Chit, yes. These are all part of bodily functions that occur regardless sof your faith. In actuality, our bodies are nothing more than a husk. An avatar for our spirit.

Perhaps the better question is, Why does your spirit even associate with your body? What is the purpose there? There must be a reason for that, eh? Why would a divine being want to be in a base, earth-bound body when it has more spiritual things to do?

Human beings are no different than any other species on Earth. We are born, we live, we reproduce, we die. That is our purpose in life. That is why we are here. Humans are intelligent and have the ability to fantasize, reason, and have complex thought processes. Because of this intelligence, a long time ago, humans decided that they wanted a bigger purpose for life. They wanted to give meaning to living, so they created religion. They made up a reason for living, which became, to serve God.

As for how I got here, well, my parents had sex, conceived me, and I was born. How did you get here? Aliens, perhaps?

I got here because the amazing wheel of life keeps turning. (And because my parents had sex).

I want to live, and add beauty and love to the world; that the world be enhanced by my presence rather than be a burden to it - to pay back the awesome gift of my existence.

Where I am going on this journey hass yet to be determined; but I have no fears. Those who think in black-and-white have a dicotomic view of after life (here or there, heaven or hell) - but if there is one the that life is NOT - it's black-and-white.

First of all we are here because parents for their own reason decide to have children. I don't remember asking my mom before i was out to create me. So the reason why we are here goes back to parents not to living ppl.
Since you making like only choice to belive in afterlife it sounds kinda interesting that you are limiting us in options to only 1 choice. How would we use the free wil if there would be only 1 choice? Death ( complete death, phisical, spirtual and so on) can stop completely which is anotehr option. Or one type of energy trasforms into anotehr type of energy. There can be zillions of variations what can happened. And before you ask this question you have to define what is afterlife is. If i am correct you trying to say that afterlife is intelegent. You preserve your understanding of now into after life but even bible does not claim that much of information.
Therefore GOD design me before he create everything to answer this question exactly the way i did. And i call it free will.

That's what animals do. I do believe in god but what is you and yours problem. Do you know how many times a day someone asks that exact same question. Are you also just trying to incite conflict as Christians claim the Atheists do. Personally, I believe in god but I know it was the Annaunki aliens that created man.

This is too big a can of worms to open up. Religion is too vast to discuss a groups belief or to come up with a single answer.

When you die, you stop being. That is why it is called death, like if a TV show dies, it stops being. That is what death is.
