why do you people do this...you write something about your religion or belief and know that others will offend you in some way...theres no use in convincing them....instead you're getting your religion abused...dont you think...so give it up!!

Gods word works in mysterious ways and you never know when you may be the one to say something that does more than tickle the ears of a person and they become interested.

I think people say stuff about religion thinking that they are completely right about everything and so no one will ever disagree! (no, really, they think their view of the world is "correct" and don't understand how anyone can't see that!) Also I think when people make reasonable arguments religious people take offense any way just because someone doesn't think the same as them. I'm not saying that some people aren't totally unreasonable and just want to be insulting without making a point, but religious people are SO over sensitive!
In summery: yeah, they should probably just give up on the idea as people ARE going to insult them (rightly or wrongly) and it WILL upset them.

Actually, there is no compromise when it comes to religion. I personally am a christian and religion holds bounderies, it breaks people into sects, it separates. God is not a God of disorder and separation. Most of us think that are religious beliefs are accurate and we think that we are right. My thing is this I am a God- fearing christian I proclaim the message about the messenger you hate me, but it doesn't matter because who you are really hating is God. We are children of God. We all have beliefs whether it is God, or not God, or nothing. You belief in something and to believe in nothing means you will fall for anything. There is nothing wrong with believing in something and standing on what you believe in, people argue all the time over worldly matters such as war and the president. What I am saying is that my religion is Apostolic and you may have never heard of it but I dont care. I am living for Jesus not the religion. If you are going to stand for something than you have to know what you are standing for. There is nothing wrong with believing in your beliefs.
What others think about me don't effect me, the way I treat others will effect me. So if I got an attitude with you not liking my ideas than I need to go to the altar. In no way should I give up my beliefs because someone else is opposed to it.
Everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe but when you shut your mouth and don't express how you feel about something than you might as well be on the opposite side of the fence. God don't like people who are ashamed of him.
See it don't matter to me whether people want to hear what I have to say or not. We all have legs, ears, eyes, and mouths. If you don't want to hear something stop listening and if you don't want to see something do something different. if you don't want to be somewhere walk away and if you don't want to say something don't say it. my point is we have free choice. My choice wont effect your choice when I am done talking. You will believe what you believe and I will believe what I believe but I can't compromise with you and I can't give up what I believe in to satisfy someone else. We all have things that we would whether hear and do, but the truth is this if you have the truth and and error in ignorance, you are forgiven, if you have the truth and error willfully you have sinned and you will be rewarded according to your deeds.
Sounds to me like you need a reason for a reason. You probably don't even know what to believe yourself. Have you been hurt by someone in the past. I am very sorry that some believers and non- believers can be pest and self righteous. But that is not all of us. Keep your head and and maybe one day you will find the true meaning behind why we voice our beliefs. Do you even have one?

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Unfortunately though, some people are just trying to get a rise out of other people. I really think that the religion section should not be on Yahoo! Answers - or limited to those who have an actual question.

Not all are offended. Some are actually seeking God. It is our duty as christians to lead people to the Lord. Our Lord tells us we will be persocuted for his name sake. We will never give it up. All christian's aren't as thin skinned as you seem to think. Some of us have on the whole armor of God. So bring it on, all of you that are offended by my religion. Maybe I'm confused. This is the Religious and Spiritual forum isn't it? If it bothers you so much go to another sight.

The serious answer to your question is without collecting points that the people who post reply according to their own religious beliefs are not trying to covert you to their own religion. They simply are trying to explain it according to their religious beliefs.
People who mocks and insults other religious beliefs are the ones who have no knowledge about their own religion. Majority of people who post reply here are not trying to convince others they are posting the information which will be useful in decades to come.

Those of us who really care cannot give up. It is possible that someone who is truly concerned could ask a question and receive the answer he/she needs. There were those who tried to offend Jesus, Paul,and many others throughout history. One can only be offended if they choose to be offended. So, you don't have to worry about us, we have a GREAT backup.

I do not take offense at sheer ignorance or stupidity. If I can be of service to answer a question that is asked, I will do it and if it is taken fine and if not, fine. God knows who is really serious in wanting to know truth and who is there only to ridicule and harrass others. My job is not to be offended but to share what I know and let the Holy Spirit convict those that want to know truth.
