It's not the idea of religion - it's how it's been interpreted.

NO- I don't think religion has any bearing on causing or solving problems. Some individuals may act fanatically and cause problems in the name of their religion but that does not represent religion in and of itself.
Religious beliefs if followed can help individuals avoid or deal with problems that come up in their life. Ultimately it is up to the individual.

Religions are not what cause problems. People cause problems. Most religions never intend to be violent, in fact they usually teach compassion and forgiveness, such as christianity, buddhism, confusianism, etc.

No. People need to start separating the teachings of religions from the interpretations or actions of "religious" people. It doesn't have to be about mine is better than yours, thats just what people of little belief/understanding in their religions have to claim to make themselves feel better. Religion is suppose to be about both faith and reason.

No. If there were no religions, even more people would fight and steal and countries would still invade their neighbours for wealth and power.

No.... people do. The religion itself doesn't..... it's the person that has to have everyone think the same way they do.
