Do you believe your god is male or female?

Why do you believe this?

I've always heard the Christian god referred to as a male, but other than being referred to as "He" in the Bible, what basis is there?

Does it really matter to you what gender your god is?

Personally, I believe that whatever benevolent force made life possible is genderless. Just wanted to see what other religions thought. :)

I see many religious and spiritual participants in Yahoo! Answers. Just now, I came across a user quoting extensively from his religious Book. I would like to know how effective or ineffective it is as a tool to convert non-believers. My own opinion is of no relevance at this point...

I snuck up on my sister and scared her with a plastic Jesus action figure. She yelled “Jesus!” in surprise.

okay. well I'm confused on whether or not I'm right in what i'm doing. I go to a Pentacostal church. [UPC]. but i don't know if i can truly say i am pentacostal or not, because i watch t.v., i don't wear skirts 24/7, i do wear jewelry now and then, and i just don't follow all of the "rules." I've heard of something called "Jesus Name" which is like pentacostal without all the baggage...so what would i call myself and am i wrong for doing this?

okay, this is turning into two questions. can anyone help me with information about recieving the holy ghost? i feel like i'm doing something wrong, and i kinda need help, so if anyone sorta kinda wants to tell me anything about it, go for it, and thanks.

Thanks to all you guys and gals who prayed for my friend with the tumor in her leg. The tumor is benign and the doctor said it's the first time in his career that he was able to give someone with this kind of tumor this verdict. So thanks for your thoughts, scripture verses and prayers.

I'm looking for a lot of key differences between Morman people, and the other groups of Christianity as a whole. If you could give me some info, or a good link, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I just don't get why they react like it's the end of the world or a bomb has exploded in their house. It's just a novel to entertain and spark up other views. I don't see why people overreact. It's just a normal book(or movie..), like any other. I found the book fascinating and interesting, like a lot of other mystery books. In fact, the author says he's even Christian.

I'm also Christian, and yet I don't have any grudge against it or anything like that. If they find the book not interesting, then shouldn't they just not read it, ignore it, instead of totally getting enraged when they even hear about it?

I'm just curious.

After all we humans do eat a lot of pineapples too.

I'm not looking for a defence of creationism just an answer to the above question.

This is one of the funniest things I've seen.

Do people that come on this site and attack the Catholic church based on Bible verses realize it was the Catholic church that put together the Bible after praying for divine inspiration to decide which books to keep and which books to throw out from the many manuscripts that began to circulate approximately 6O yrs. after the death of our Lord Jesus Christ? The Bible is divinely inspired not divinely written hence to judge the church that put it together is presuming one knows more about the Bible than its author (the church) and since no protestants were around at the council of Nicea, where the Bible was compiled, the mother of all Christian churches is the Catholic church, which some of you have dared to call the whore of Babylon. By disrespecting the church that gave birth to all your churches(when your leaders dissented) you are calling the church from which your faith sprung,a whore Per Jesus in the Bible speaking of the original,"the gates of hell will not prevail against it".

What is the problem with having faith in god, but not generalizing youself by accepting the calls of any religions? It isn't athiestic, it is just living life and evolving your understanding of god and life through experience.... why don't people understand that?

I was at the Hill Camorah Pagent this past weekend and heard all the anti-mormon's shouting. Most of it seemed rediculous or misinterpretated. Where do they get thier information? You would think they'd get facts straight before they accuse.

I have been mulling it over in my mind and wasn't sure I should bother anybody with it as it is such an insignificant thing. I am having a few minor health issues and am asking if others will pray for me?I know this is selfish but I feel the need to ask.
