there is lot difference between rituals and religion-which is knowing urself first, self discovery, ans.to who am i,humanity, selfless service to the needy ones, real way of life, religion leads u to the path of living prudently/full of wisdom and love,no place for any type of hatred with anyone, love is something divine, relgion take u to seek commands from ur heart, not mind-now what the others r doing don't worry,u just follow and discover urself.rest others will take cue from ur life, thus the process of self transformation will set in,first of we have to change ourselves.

I think a lot of people do need religion and that it serves a very good purpose in most people's lives. I think these religious radicals are the minority and that they are just the majority of what we see in the news. People form social groups with their common bond as religion, however, if religion were not it, it would be something else. It's human nature to band together based on a common ideal or physical feature even, and to be against what is perceived as "the other".

THIS ANSWER requires that which religion doi u follow any way whatso ever. if we say that we will follow by saying that no religions anymore we will get the truth, good and bad by ourself and follow that. but the question is who will tell us whats right and what is wrong. Its religion ,which tells us that killing a man is sin. magic is sin. rape is sin. theft is a sin its bad. we cannot make standard for ourselves as a human being. Otherwise every contry will keep its standard different just like bush as he says that Israel can have nukes its good and Iran cant have its bad. thats what religion will tell us coz it will be same for all. now to think abt the life after death we need religion. some people will say there is no life after that they answer me that Hitler who has committed the blunders on earth and he died unpunished and Mother tresea who all her life did deeds for humanity and she died without any reward who will give them rewards or nemesis. there are many unanswered questions in this life which are to be answered. now which religion is the right one . it is for sure all religions are not right . there has to be one. ONE LONE RIGHT PATH. now that depends upon a man and a woman that he or she seeks knowledge of all religion whatever they find the truth is true coz man knows by heart who is speaking truth. as truth also have got knowledge for that.

i think religion is used as a cover today more than anything else. people need to learn to look at religion as a way to understand ethics/ morals and be done with it. today's religion has taken thought out of living.

because the start of the Catholic Church and her 2 daughters, (four hundred-1900 ad) faith has taken on an entire new meaning. it truly is that new which means that makes it no longer only no longer mandatory today, yet a detriment, deterring international peace! I say we keep the toddler, yet throw out the bathwater; keep the sacred historic texts, yet throw out the guy-made religions that use those sacred textual content as a frame of mind to pretend empowerment, and to split and divide instead of utilising them to carry solidarity interior of, which in time, will carry solidarity with out! "Behold, how good and how pleasant it truly is for brethren to live together in solidarity! it truly is like the precious ointment upon the top, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down the skirts of his clothing: because the dew of Hermon, and considering the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even existence for evermore." Psalms 133.

Religion is needed as long as you earnestly follow it.

jesus is the only way a person can get to Heaven. By totally putting your faith in Him to save you from God's wrath. Not by good works or trying to obey all the laws, because God says you cannot do it.

some religions might have been created to keep people in line but the one true religion is very neccesary today

Science is for those things that can be tested and are repeatable, like gravity.

Philosophy is for those things that are either not testable OR not repeatable, like happiness

Religion is for those things that are not testable AND not repeatable, like God.

Each is a facet of how the human mind deals with reality as it tries to sort out how things work in reality and potentially in the absence of facts.

As to specific religions? That's for you to say.

God provides us with the purpose of our existence and if we seek to do good it is the same as seeking to do the will of God. Your belief in God only has value in so far as you live your life according to His purpose for you.

How then do we know what is the will of God? That is where religion comes in. GOD has revealed His will through prophets. To find out what this is you need to study the revelation.

Faith and hope are two of the most powerful emotions humans have.
Religion lets an individual feel these emotions in an otherwise pessimistic and ugly world.
Be glad that it is still here.
Yes. Religion is neccessary.
