ACTUALLY, He is not resting for 1 day, or even for a while! Yes, He is planning for the second coming of Jesus.

You are correct on that. The Bible states in 2 Peter 3:8 - "One day with the LORD equals 1,000 earth years." So no, He didn't create the earth in six, 24-hour days like others are mistaken on.. As for what he was "doing" during the 7th day, for a thousand years, who knows? But He did it as an example for us to rest after a week of work.

Last I heard God was on the other side of the universe cooking up some really fun things for kids, like dinosaurs and gummy bears. God really likes kids and he got really tired of the religious nuts on Earth so he left. Now all the religious nuts are killing each other and telling everyone it is God's will.
God had a good laugh about that because it is His will that all humans exterminate each other so he can start with a clean slate. I saw the blueprints in His laboratory. Would you believe cockroaches with big brains that dance a kind of rumba.
To tidy up after the religious nuts kill each other off, God left a time delayed virus that spreads super fast, has a two month gestation period then kills within a day of showing any symptoms.

Actually, according to Hebrews 4:10 we are currently in God's seventh day of rest.
As for the creation of earth and heaven in 6000 years, the Bible doesn't mention how long the 6 creative "days" were. Each day could have been millions of years long. A day doesn't always have to be a period of 24 hours and it doesn't have to be limited to 1000 hours. For example, the book of 2 Peter states that a day with God is as (or like) a thousand years. Peter wasn't giving us a precise numerical value for how many years equal a day for God. Rather, Peter was speaking about the eternal nature of God. So we shouldn't assume that the earh has only been around for 6000 years. Science strongly disproves this and the Bible doesn't specifically say 6000 years. Each of those days likely were much, much longer.
A day is a peroid of time that has a definite beginning and ending, such as the Bible referring to "Noah's day". Noah lived longer than 24 hours. And too, since we are still in God's 7th day (which so far has lasted thousands of years, since the creation of Adam) we can be sure that the days mentioned in Genesis were, as evidence points out, likely millions of years long.

After God created the heavens & earth in 6 days, He rested for 1 day. He is right now planning the Messiah's second coming.

God is the process of life itself. Everywhere, eternal. God is doing all things, in all dimensions, in all worlds. God cannot be contained by our limited human awareness.
