You have to be a member of ONE CHURCH. JESUS CHRIST.

You need to seek fellowship with other believers. Don't kid yourself. It's called, spiritual growth. It is not a prerequisite, but you should go.

"Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together..."

The context of this scripture was in regards to the congregation...

However, there are worse things than not attending church, such as unions outside of a government-recognized marriage. Marriage must be official, and recognized by the highest authority of the area you live in. That's worse than not attending meetings, and there are other worse things. I'm not trying to sound judgemental, but this is what the Bible says, whether or not people want to follow it.

As well, heaven is reserved only for a few. The rest (who are obedient) will live under the next theocracy. When that will be we are not certain.

The only ones who will get to heaven are the 144,000 annointed ones who have been already chosen by God. If you were one of these, you would already know the answer to your question. Since you don't, you might be able to live forever on a paradise earth if you learn about God and Jesus and the best place to do that is in religious meetings at the nearest Kingdom Hall. Not only that, but your attendance will encourage others. Try it, you'll like it!!

One needs to attend church to believe that heaven exists.
Hey, it's not a bad thing! There are millions of people who believe that heaven exists, and that if they are good, then when they die they will go there. Anything which gives people a reason to behave decently toward others is positive.

Attending Sunday Mass, not just any church service, is required for all.

That's because, through the actions of the priest and through the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ becomes substantially present for us at every Mass.

Then, as our official high priest and advocate, Jesus approaches his father on our behalf, obtaining grace and mercy for all mankind.

Those who fail to understand man's sinfulness and God's supernatural provision for mankind, also fail to understand the critical need for proper worship.

The biblical record on this is not complete, either.

Only a study of scripture, along with the traditions handed down by Christ and the Apostles provides the complete picture, and the whole truth.

Anyone who fails to fully participate in the work, the worship, and the sacraments of the Catholic Church may experience considerable and unexpected difficulties in finding their way to heaven.

I think that's something that is truly based on one's personal belief system. For me, I follow the scriptures and try to do right by God. Anytime I make a life choice, I ask myself, is this what is best? Is this what He would want me to do? I asked myself those same questions when I was trying to find a church to attend. I came up with one answer for me, and maybe it will help you.

I believe in the Holy Bible with all my heart. I don't doubt a single word that I've read in there. The only thing I question is how it is interpreted. All of the Christian churches out there, and they all have such similar beliefs, but there's at least one difference between all of them dependent on how they interpret a passage or book. I've decided that no one church can be completely correct in all of their beliefs, but it's the fact that they honestly believe it to be true that God is looking for. So, for me, my choice is to follow His word and His way from home. Yes, I attend church from time to time with friends, but do I feel that I'm going to be rejected at the pearly gates for not wanting to follow a faith I may not completely agree with all the time? No, because I always agree with God.

Bless you and follow your heart.

No. The Bible even says so. The only purposes that church were supposed to serve was 1) as outreach to unbelievers and to the needy. Efforts are more far-reaching when they're organized. 2) As fellowship. One has to understand that when the Christian church was founded, Christianity was highly persecuted. Church was a way that Christians could get together and strengthen each other in their faith.
I don't go to church, but I know where I'm going when I die, and it isn't Hell.

Heaven is a made up place that does not really exist. Heaven was invented by mankind and doesn't exist. Either does hell. They are not real places. So, the answer is, no you don't have to go to church to get to heaven, because it isn't a real place. Only a metaphor.

No. One needs to heed the words of Christ and repent, and accept him as the Messiah to recieve salvation. Salvation is a gift. There are alot of wolves in sheep's clothing running alot of churches today. None of our works gets us into heaven, and this includes the act of attending church.

I sure hope not, because I'm not very good about going. :) I've had a hard time finding a church I feel comfortable in. It's not the church, it's the people in the church.

Keep your relationship with God going strong with prayer and doing what you believe is the right thing.

Just my opinion, of course!
