Most of it comes from former members of the Church who have a "bone to pick" with the Church. They will then take one of the sacred teachings, twist it, and then make it sound like a bunch of crap. Most of the teachings of the LDS faith, presented in the proper context, and with the proper background and faith, make sense. Those that don't require faith and patience for God to reveal what we don't yet understand. All religions have aspects that we don't understand fully, yet we still believe, no matter how ridiculous they might seem.
For example, when Christ explained to his Apostles that he would die and rise again they totally didn't understand what he was talking about. But they believed in Him and knew that it would eventually make sense. People who didn't believe in Jesus took some of these things he said and used them to persuade people to not believe in Him. In the end, Jesus was resurrected, and it was suddenly clear.
To answer some of the questions from above:
Do they allow everyday Mormons in to the Tabernacle these days or is it still just for the certain few that have the 'card'?
Only members of the Church, who abide by the Church's teachings, are allowed in the temple. They are interviewed regularly by their bishop and issued a temple recommend, or card, that permits them to enter the temple.
Are you allowed to read the Mormon Bible displayed there (in the temple)?
I think you must be referring to the Book of Mormon, and it can be read anywhere. There are no other books and such that are in the temple that the Church doesn't freely distribute.
When did Mormons start recruiting Blacks to become members?
Mormons have always allowed blacks to be members since 1830. It was one of the original reasons the Church was persecuted. It did not allow black members to enter the temple and recieve the Priesthood until 1978 when God told the Prophet of the Church that they could now do so.
Do the women still believe they will be the next Mary and birth the new Prophet?
I have never heard of this. The Mormon church is organized with a prophet as the head of the Church. The prophet is just like any other man, and as such it must be an honor to be the mother of a prophet. The church does not worship the mother of the prophet or the prophet himself. The Church worships God and Jesus Christ only.

Accuse Mormons of what? You don't say here, but be sure what they are saying is absolutely untrue because there's s certain amount of truth in every lie. The information I got including the 'Ceremony/Rites' was from a video that was made by former Mormons. Do they allow everyday Mormons in to the Tabernacle these days or is it still just for the certain few that have the 'card'? Are you allowed to read the Mormon Bible displayed there? When did Mormons start recruiting Blacks to become members? Do the women still believe they will be the next Mary and birth the new Prophet? I don't want to be mis-informed because some disgruntled ex members may have distorted the truth in the video, but I watch the John Akerberg show and many religions and belief systems have been discussed on that show and these were some of the things that the practicing Mormons stated as being correct. There's also the internet!

It's not about the accusations being rational. They just approach it with a mindset that if they shout all night, one person will hear it and defect. If they really have something against the church, they'll work hard just to have that one person listen to what they're saying. The accusations being rational or irrational make no difference--faithful Mormons won't listen no matter what they say. They just focus on the not-so-faithful and knock them down as best they can.

My Mom had mormon missionaries living in her house in Germany and they were nice guys. I read the Book of Mormon before and have to admit it didn't make any sense to me. It's the same reason they think of Jehovas Witnesses as a cult. Ignorance.

I don't know about active Anti-Mormons, but I've met a lot of people with a lot of misconceptions about Mormons. I think it's like the telephone game. They heard something from someone who heard it from someone....who met with missionaries, read a book, whatever.

Did you know that B.H. Roberts spent his entire life as a Mormon historian only to find out in his last days that it all was a farce? Read the Book of Mormon Studies.

They probably make it up just like all religious bigots do, whether Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, Southern Baptist, Bob Jones Uisms, Episcopalians, Catholics, Sheezheit, Sueme, Etc. Any excuse is a good excuse to make oneself feel superior by belittling others.

These people get their info from people with an agenda. Usually it runs along the lines of "y'all are different (religion, skin color, sexual preference) so you must be bad, wrong & evil.
This comes from ignoring the religions they espouse, almost all of which say something along the lines of "love thy neighbor as thyself"
Also, it is really hard to hate good decent people, so they have to dehumanize their preceived enemies.
But, hey -- if ya take to heart what haters say, you'll be hurtin' all the time.
Let them sip their haterade in peace, and ignore them.

The same goes for many smaller religions. The minorities are always picked on by the large churches.
