I was born Catholic. Catholics ARE Christians, and don't EVER let ANYONE tell you different.
As for the books, even the highest scholars can't agree on which one s are true, and which are totallly bogus. And they never will because they weren' t there, either.
All religions are good.
Until man gets involved....

Catwoman, While I'm protestant, I can understand where you are coming from, and you did a great job of research on your question.
However, there are some fundamental differences between the protestant denominations and the Roman Catholic church. A lot of the differences are historical because of the wrongs committed by the midieval catholic church which was more focused on power at that stage, and that is the basis for so many angry comments, And those comments are wrong to judge modern day catholics by.
Fortunately, the catholic church has moved beyond that stage and I know a lot of catholics who will be in heaven.
You are right, the mother of all churches is the Catholic church, but based on the research, many Protestants do not trust the authenticity of the Latin Vulgate Bible which has been inaccurately modified over the years. Instead they use translations of the Bible that were based on earlier versions of the Greek and Hebew texts.
For anyone to attack your church it is wrong. I guess this is one of those issues that we will have to ask about in heaven as to how God wants us to interpret his teachings.

Could you ask a single question regarding your query of theology. The paragraph you have used here is very broad and not concise in what you're asking.
I do know that Jesus directed the apostles NOT to build a formal building to worship, rather to meet in groups of 4 or more and to meet in homes for fellowship. Does that not make the "mother of all churches" as you call the Roman Catholic church contradictory to word of God?
Please refrain from using "catholic" as a term for the Roman Catholic Church; Apostolic Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and the Greek Orthodox Churches all all Catholic and are NOT the Roman Catholic church.
BTW the Greek Orthodox Church is the Mother of all Churches, NOT The Roman Catholic. It was founded nearly a century prior to the Roman Catholic church.

The bible was written by Holy men inspired by God! This very book (bible) that you claim was put together by the Catholic Church- is the very book that destroys most of the Catholic doctrine! You should take a little time to read it from time-to-time, instead of just listening to your priest and taking everything that you're being fed and swallowing it up as if infallible truth!
Read it for yourself! Remember, this mother of christian churches as you say, has had many of it's leaders sexually molest children! And also remember, that this is the church that put to death millions of christians in times past for not believing in her doctrines! Even for just reading a bible!
Rev 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven shout, "My people, you must escape from Babylon. Don't take part in her sins and share her punishment.
Rev 18:5 Her sins are piled as high as heaven. God has remembered the evil she has done.

The bottom line is that the gods of the prot cults cannot be identified with the Father of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The false gods of the prots are man-made projections of the mental illness of the various prot demigods.
Luther's god was an overbearing and abusive father who acted capriciously and violently in response to any minor infraction. Luther actually hated that god if you read his autobiographical material. This deity could only be placated by total submission and trust in his might and "goodness." Spiritual passivity was essential because any effort by Luther to be good himself would be a futile attempt to detract from the "goodness" of his deity.
The Calvinoid deity (which I call goid) was a kind of amoral demiurge who was above the whole essential understanding of good and evil. Whatever goid willed was "good" because he willed it and for no other reason. And his will is irresistable, so a human can be nothing more than what goid wants him/her to be. If goid willed you to be damned then you were damned. Once again, the capricious deity could elect some and damn others without rhyme or reason other than his "good pleasure." Humans were both elected and reprobated by goid who actively made them that way. But in a bizarre and illogical rationale, the good that men do is attributed not to them but to goid because he is the ultimate source of their actions while the sins of men are solely attributable to them because goid is not directly responsible for them.
I won't even get into the prot deities in the cults of the Seventh Day Adventists, the Mormons, and the JWs. While mainline prots do not like to claim these groups, the groups all originated from and identify themselves with the prot movements and not with Catholic/Orthodox Christianity.
Why do we call such infidels "separated brethren"? We are trying to be polite. But when we have to discuss the real errors in the prot religions, we need to tell the truth and not sugar coat it. The prots never call us "separated brethren." We get called fools, biblically illiterate, idolators, worshippers of creatures, etc. But they don't like it when we treat them like they treat us. We become “not very Christian”.
Bottom line: The Catholic faith is the historic Christian faith matured and in full bloom. The prot cults are shrivelled caricatures of the Christian faith divorced from history and oppressed by Jewish scruples and man-made standards. They are Peter Pan-like cults that have never grown up and cannot deal with deeper spiritual realities.

REVELATION 18Â “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19Â and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll..

So are you saying that Catholicism messed up every religion that believes in God because they put the bible together and that we should be grateful?
