the great spirit he (gender neutral usage) who is known by a thousand names and is yet unnameable encompasses all, Mother Earth, Father Sky, and all who dwell within. there is no gender .spirit is beyond such trivial human concerns, we must learn to see beyond such non-issues to actually evolve and move closer to creator, and rejoin our place in the stars

I'm a Christian, but I only refer to my God as a He for clarification. That is the most accepted method of reference for what I refer to in private as "It". God is not male or female, and yet is both.
The only reason the God has been called a "He" is because that's the more "dominant" of the species, and those who translated the Bible from the original Hebrew, Latin, and Aramaic texts wanted to show that. Or at least that's my theory.
Perhaps the other reason that God is referred to as a "He" is because that makes It easier to understand. For eons humans have tried to classify things in order to understand them better. Everything on Earth has to have a name, and even time has been broken up and classified.
So that's my take.

God couldn't possibly be male or female. God would only need to be male, if there were a female counterpart to create existence with. The opposite is true of being female. God is Asexual, or Genderless. Or if you're Wiccan/Pagan, the creator has two aspects, a male and a female (God and Goddess.)

When most people think of God, they think of Him in His glory in heaven. So, the question, "Is God male" usually refers to God as He exists in heaven. The Bible always refers to God using male pronouns. Does this mean that God is physically male? In other words, does God have male sexual organs? Surprisingly, the Bible does address this question indirectly, through a number of different statements about the nature of God and what He is like. Jesus said that God is "spirit." Although not defined extensively in the Bible, a spirit is an entity that has no physical body. After His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples that He had returned in bodily form, saying, "a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." If God is a spirit as the Bible says, and a spirit has no flesh or bones, then God cannot be male in physical form. God is not male, since He is not a physical, but a spiritual, being.

God is Spirit, and has no gender.
Jesus calls God "Abba" or "Daddy". This blew the minds of the religious leaders of the time. We call God a loving Father because that is how we relate to God as human beings, which should be easy for those who have been raised in a healthy home with a loving dad.
The best way to understand God as Trinity is the anology of the human family.
In seeking to understand the traditional family, Christians should keep in mind that not only are individual persons created in the image of God, but so is the family itself. The human family is the closest analogy that mankind will ever come to concretely understanding the Blessed Trinity.
The creeds teach that while there is one God, He exists in three distinct persons. The bible, on the other hand, reveals that man is made in the 'image of God'. From these two truths, therefore, we can acknowledge that the complete image of God is found in the Triune understanding of Him.
This understanding of His Triune nature is reflected by the human family whose personal relationships approach the likeness of the Trinity.
There are multiple demonstrations of this truth.
Consider the unity of the Trinity which is reflected in the unity of the family. Or the "family of persons" which is found in both. The persons of the Trinity share the 'same substance ' while a human family becomes one flesh: wife with husband and parents with children.
There is also another element in the Trinity that lends itself to human likeness. The Nicene Creed professes this about the Trinity: "We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life who proceeds from the Father and the Son."
In Catholic theology, the Holy Spirit is said to proceed from the will of both the Father and the Son, or in other words, through the activity which they engage in, otherwise known as "love".
The Holy Spirit is poured forth through the exchange of love between the Father and the Son. This is why perhaps Jesus says to the Apostles: " Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." (John 16:7)
In the eternal economy of the Trinity, therefore, a person 'proceeds' from the love between two other persons. And so, the Holy Spirit is love 'proceeding' or 'coming from' the first two persons of the Blessed Trinity.
The human family has a rather striking parallel to this dynamic. The ultimate act of intimacy in a marriage mirrors the eternal exchange of love between the first two persons of the Trinity.
And like the eternal or continual procession of the Holy Spirit in the Trinity, the act of love between a man and a woman causes a 'procession' of another human person (i.e. the birth of a child).
Thus, it is precisely because the homosexual sex act is not ordered to the procession of another person, that it can never be a Trinitarian reflection of the divine essence.
Indeed, the sexual act itself, which is supposed to be a reflection of the Trinitarian relationship, becomes, through the homosexual act, a blasphemy against God since it ends up distorting the Trinitarian image of Him.
The human sexual act either affirms God's image or it distorts it. This is why all forms of contraceptive sex, including the homosexual act, are serious sins: they seek to create God in another image. It is anti-Trinitarian.

In the Holy Quran it is said in chapter 2 that If u dont believe in our faith atleast come to common terms that is GOD. We all preaching the same God but our paths are different. but all path are not right there is to be only one path. now abt the gender of God. God is genderless coz if god is male then he would need a female and if he is male She would need a male which will definetly intrude in his or her affairs and His or Her appearence will be minimized as He is alone and Only. Now why we use He for the God. coz in all parts of world man or HE is symbol of power . Now as we refer to god as because of His power we go for He instead of she for God and in any language of the world their is no name and pronoun of an individual who is genderless as God is. so we use He for God.

Jesus is Male.
He say God is our father. So that made God a Male too.
Holy Spirit is ..... ??? I don't know.
Why not ??? Is a sin to blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, is unforgiven by God.
Imagine telling people, Holy Spirit is Male, and In Heaven, you know the Holy Spirit is otherwise.
So I don't know, what the gender of Holy Spirit.
It does matter to me, if my God is of my Same gender.
Can anyone tell your mother about your Penis size ? Or any young girls to tell your father about your bloody discharge?
I would love to see God answer to woman folk on the discharge issue, the PMS and Mood Swing..... lol if God is Our Father and being male.
Just as our earthly father having problem with Wing tips cotton usage and having to explain to his daughter ( mother not on earth in this case ) .... lol ......

God is definitely male, although male in the sense of being, not having the dangly bits that humans and created beings have.
Reason: There is order and design in the universe and a meaning and purpose to it all - and random acts of explosive destruction don't occur once a month...

I tend to think its genderless, at least as we know it, because it isn't human. Either that or the spirit is an embodiment of both genders. Though I definitely think that if it had a gender it would be a woman.

Nothing wrong with a female god.
Unless she's very good looking, in which case I'm in a lot of trouble based upon what the bible says!
I guess I'll just have to look down at my feet!
