Look people, I grew up atheist, and have lived that way for 21 years, so don't brand me as a bible thumper or anything. I realize that there are some inconsistencies in the various religions around the world. I know what you are thinking. But now that I have been through engineering school, and have learned so much about science and the universe, I must ask all of you atheists out there - as rational thinking, educated, science oriented people, HOW CAN YOU BE SOOOOOOOOOO SURE THAT GOD DOESN'T EXIST? Isn't there some shred of a possibility that maybe He exists? What rules God out?

Most religions contradict each other. So provided there is a god (which there is) wouldn't it make sense to go with the religion that is (by far) the hardest to have been made up?

I was married in my Church but I am not sure how the government got into the business of marriage. I can see how two people can make a committment and I may understand some legal protection but should the powers that be have any say in who can marry, who can divorce, or even if you like how many you can marry?Isn't that best left to personal belief and to the parties concerned?

Not necessarily cover to cover, but maybe the whole New Testament and sizable bits of the Old?

I'm just curious.

I think I've read the entire think except for bits of Leviticus as one time or another.

Israel would be invincible (Zechariah 12:6-9). Since 1948, tiny Israel has been attacked in three major wars and six lesser wars, yet despite being vastly outnumbered, they have defeated all attacking foes. Even during the final battle, when it looks like Israel will be destroyed, the Lord shall deliver her. (Jeremiah 30:3-7; Zechariah 14; Mark 13:14-20). An invincible Israel makes no sense – unless you believe God’s Word.

For example why is it considered virtuous to believe in God? And why do some Christian people say that it will somehow 'take away people's free will' if God made clear to all that he exists?

Ouija boards have long been noted for having said to be psychically linked to the afterlife. That their users can actually commune with spirits of the once-living. Some people believe that ouija boards are nothing more than hand-tools of the devil and are catalysts for inviting demonic activity. What do you think? And what kind of experiences have you had? Mystical and enlightening? Have they brought you peace in reaching a dead relative? Scared the crap out of you? Brought on unwanted spirit activities? Did you waste your money on a piece of junk?

I've been wanting to move out for a long time because I don't get along with her. she doesn't respect my privacy and even read my most personal emails. She thinks it's not christian to move out and insists that I should live with her until I'm married. Like who am I going to get married to if she's most likely going to try to choose him. She calls my friends "satanists" but she hasn't met them and nor does she want to. She tells me what to wear even if its modest and a bunch of other things. do I have every right to pack up my things and move out because I've tried to work things out multiple times.

Why or why not? The country of Israel isn't very big, but they are very impressive when it comes to their military strenght! Is it due in part to their belief in their God? Yes or no? Why or why not?
