Cultus, meaning "care" or "adoration", as "a system of religious belief or ritual; or: the body of adherents to same"

No thats just it
They are relentless in trying to convience the ignorant. I was plucked from the streets when I was 12 to get baptized. I only did it because they said if I didn't, I was going to hell.

The problem with anything that claims to be so incredibly right, is that even though there might be truth in it, the people who represent it don't match up to what they are saying. I understand when someone says they are tired of christianity. it's because christianity has become a religion made up of people who think they are right, and who underlyingly judge people who don't believe what they believe. On top of that, what they claim to be truth, they don't even follow. The only thing i can say for them is that its because they are a religion. And all religions do that to some extent. It's because they feel that the fate of the souls of everybody rests on it. they have to be right, because if they're not right, then they don't know what happens when they die, and they lose hope and become scared, or feel pointless. the truth is, faith won't hold those feelings forever. I am someone who has been raised in the christian church, and spent my whole life in it, being fed by it, taught by it, and living in it. I would not consider myself a chrisitian now, mainly because i don't want to be associated with what that represents. however, i can't abandon what i feel in my heart to be true. i know how many people's hearts have been broken and hurt by the christian church, and their representation of love. the problem is, so many of these representations are not representations of god, but of the people themselves. take this site for instance. ive seen so many christians saying people are going to burn in hell, and that they're sinning and need to stop, and that jesus is the way, and so on. to me, it is tragic. christians these days try so hard just to keep their own lives together, their own faith, their own beliefs, despite the fact that a lot of times their heart conflicts with the very beliefs they are trying to come to terms with. and because of this, they have no room left for anyone else. they find it hard to listen, hard to understand, and ultimately, hard to care. when life is about heaven and hell, life or death, when it becomes so intensly epic, you don't have space for real peace...to just relax, and know that things are ok...that ultimately, you were made powerful as a human, and dont have to rely on a million things just to get through the day. i feel for you, and millions of other people in this country who would just like some peace. no condemnation, no judgement, just somebody who will listen, and somebody who's not going to freak out about what you say or think. whenever you stray from the heart of love, i dont care what religion you are, you have missed it. whenever you forget that life is about people, and about exploring the possiblities, not defining everything in boxes, you will miss the point. don't pay attention to what the christian movement represents, just realize that deep in our hearts, we know the answers to life, and we can't neglect ourselves either. we have to listen to the depths of our own heart, no matter how scary that might be, and no matter what we might find...we can never be afraid...

Cult: (according to Websters)
1 : formal religious veneration : WORSHIP
2 : a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents
3 : a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents

I think since christianity is so mainstream and prevalent it is no longer by definition a cult, though they were in the beginning, and their various offshoots are considered cults by the more orthodox established versions.

I think a better term is a Virus....it insidiously infects everything . Again from Websters:
Etymology: Latin, venom, poisonous emanation; akin to Greek ios poison, Sanskrit visa; in senses 2 & 4, from New Latin, from Latin
1 archaic : VENOM 1
2 a : the causative agent of an infectious disease
3 : something that poisons the mind or soul
4 : a computer program that is usually hidden within another seemingly innocuous program and that produces copies of itself and inserts them into other programs and usually performs a malicious action (as destroying data)

and yes, I'm tired of the virus of christianity infecting the world

Trainer53?? This ISN'T A CHRISTIAN SITE !!!! It is Religion and Spirituality. Dissent and disagreement from the orthodox is allowed here

Is anyone getting bored with atheists and their hope for nothing?

You people spend twice as much time mocking and dismissing Christianity than all religions combined. Your useless and lackadaisical effort to push your illogical nonsense against my beliefs is falling harmlessly to the ground. You have faith in nothing. That is boring enough as it is. I am not going to stoop to that level.

For most against the Christian faith, it is your choice, I respect that. What I can't stand is when Christians ask questions on the Bible, looking for serious answers and atheists yap about there is no God. Have the common courtesy to not reply if you can't answer respectfully.

Tired of the cult? Yes. However, I happen to love it's followers since most of my loved ones are christians. You might say that most christians are better than their creed. It is quite frustrating watching them avoid reading anything that doesn't already agree with what they feel the "truth" is. The best we can do is lead by example.

If you're tired of Christians then you shouldn't be one. No one is holding a gun to your head. If you don't want Biblical references you shouldn't read the Bible.
If you don't believe in Christ then you should live without him. Have a nice day.

Why come to a Christian site and say this, why not go to a non Christian site where you could feel more at home? But you would get no reactions there would you? No fun huh! They would all agree with you there, but this is'nt what you want is it?

Yes.
A good example of a christian cult would be LifeTeen. It's ruined some of my friends. Keep your children away from it.

If you ask a question , anyone can answer . Stop living a lie , believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved . Be careful what you speak , you will be judged by every idle word you say .

Nope, I'm tired of anti-religious people hanging out in the religion section. How stupid is that anyway? If you don't want to hear it, go to another section. It's not like anyone is forcing you to be here.

Yes, I'm quite tired of this death cult. I don't really mind the teachings of the book they purport to follow, but the followers give me the heebeegeebees.
