since you don't follow any organized religion... you don't follow God/Divine rules...therefore abortion,gay-marriage,adultry,etc. are okay (Not that you do those things) since you can do wutever you feel like> In my opinion I would consider it rebellion against God>

Would you be willing to save someone from hell by taking their place? I ask here because I want to know if the example written in the bible is one anyone would follow - if your god was willing to take human form and suffer a horrific torture and death for you, would you follow his example and save someone else? Would you be more charitable and compassionate than the people in real life who have told me "no, they belong there and should suffer forever"?

When I was 7 years old I was sexually abused and to this day I've never told anyone in my family. Since the age of 7 I've had this question bottled up inside of me: Why does God let bad things happen to good people? I gave up on God after the abuse happened b/c I felt God, if he exists, wouldn't have let it happen.
I'm 24 and have just begun to deal with the effects of the abuse and am dealing with post traumatic stress disorder. A few of my friends say that "everything happens for a reason." But I'm left to wonder why was I subjected to abuse while others weren't. Is it because I deserved it? My abuser, a family member, has a normal happy life, but I'm the one who's alone, depressed, crying, and suicidal. I suffer, while nothing changes for him. I lose, while he wins. Does that mean I deserved what happened? I'm not looking for pity. I just need answers. It's just that my mind won't stop thinking about it and the only sensible answer seems to be that I am being punished somehow.

What does the religion of Christianity state about what happens after someone who is non-christian (or as they say non-believer) passes away? I know it says if youre a good person, you go to heaven, and bad person to hell..... but just curious? any views? (atheists, other religions, etc)

I mean pagan was a derogatory word (something to the effect of hillbilly or country dweller) used by christians to identify non-christians! Is there no original name for those beliefs that can be used? I'm not religious and just curious! I'm not trying to offend anyone here!

Christians: Have you ever considered that some people just simply don't all have to believe in the same thing as you do? I don't appreciate being called ignorant and naive just because I don't share the same beliefs as you.

I love America, you are free to worship whichever god you please, if any at all. But I also sometimes dislike America, because we have so many Christians who are trying to push their beliefs down my throat because they think they can/should convert me. I know not all Christians are like this, but MOST ARE.

My beliefs aren't stupid. I don't go up to a bunch of Christians and insist they stop believing in god, so why does it give them the right to try to call ME wrong? It doesn't give them that right.

I'm agnostic, because there are no concrete answers, and I believe that religion is a manifestation of fear.

I want real answers, and I don't want bible quotes, or people telling me that I'm going to hell, or that I can "still be saved". Give me some non-bullshit.

I've asked some questions to believers and have noticed a common way of thinking. Some believers tend to think that because Atheists live life without belief in gods that don't exist, they can do whatever they want without consequence. I've been an atheist for 32 years and I've never murdered, raped, or stolen anything. I've never even been arrested. I have experimented with drugs, but left that behind 8 years ago. I have a drink maybe 5 or 6 times a year on special occasions. I'm in business for myself. Married (Justice of the peace - godless ceremony). Never broke a bone. I do curse alot. I could go on... The point is Atheists find it unnecessary to belief in gods whose only proof is the belief of others (the bible is not proof, it was written by humans based on their beliefs - it was written starting 40 years after the life of jesus and ammende over centuries with other peoples beliefs.) I attribute my "goodness" to good genes and good parenting not a grand design.

If Prince (the musician) chose Jehovahs Witnesses as his religion, couldn't their be something really to it. The fact that he has such an iconic status and could choose any religion he wanted to, why did he choose to be a witness? People get on here and say its a cult and they use mind control, but ask yourself, would prince alow someone or a group of people to control him. Seeing he went thru that whole ordeal w/ Warner Bros, would he really jump into something that many describe as a cult. Think about it. Maybe he really did find the Truth!

What exactly is this sin? Why is there no clear definition of it? Is it associating the works of Satan with God? Dying without accepting Jesus? Denying God?

Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.

The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.

Have you ever considered that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell?

Orthodox Jewish organizations are more forthcoming and admit that the Talmud not only mentions Jesus but disparages him (as a sorcerer and a demented sex freak).

For example, on the website of the Orthodox Jewish Hasidic Lubavitch group--one of the largest in the world--we find the following statement, complete with Talmudic citations:

"The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of 'Jesus the Nazarene':

1) He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic, led Jews astray into idolatry, and were sponsored by foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish worship (Sanhedrin 43a).

2) He was sexually immoral, worshipped statues of stone (a brick is mentioned), was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness, and refused to repent (Sanhedrin 107b; Sotah 47a).

3) He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh, which is also explicitly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b).

End quote from http://www.noahide.com/yeshu.htm (Lubavitch website) June 20, 2000.

How do you define God??

If you don't think there is a magic man in the clouds controlling everything, most non-atheists would agree with you.

Do you deny that the word God is in the english language??

If you can say the word and define it -then the word exists -

How can you deny existince of God when you can say the word??

I don't think there is a fatman living at the North Pole who delivers toys to everybody every year-
but I can't deny the existence of Santa Clause because I can say the word - it is a noun.

maybe Atheism needs to be a little less vague in its philosophy --- when you say there is no God -what exactly are you meaning?

Many people define God in many different ways ----If you deny God the way most religions define it then you are denying religious concepts of God and not God.
--what exactly are you denying the existence of??
