i am weiting a speech for my mosque on jealousy and need some hadith or quranic verses or any definition in your own terms. just explain in your own way what you thunk it is and how we can control it.

over here in America,, we call jealousy the (green eyed monster) meaning that some one is so jealous they are sick,, and the color green is used,,, I know it is a good color in islam,,, but it is just used this way to describe the word jealous here....

Jealous is evil thoughts toward another person because of something they have but you don't but you want to get it. It is like going out of your way to cause them pain not necessary physical harm but wishing they would have bad luck. It is sort of like envy you want something only because someone else has it and that isn't right. We can control it by when we are having feelings that are unpure to check them right when they happen.
