Christians: Have you ever considered that some people just simply don't all have to believe in the same thing as you do? I don't appreciate being called ignorant and naive just because I don't share the same beliefs as you.
I love America, you are free to worship whichever god you please, if any at all. But I also sometimes dislike America, because we have so many Christians who are trying to push their beliefs down my throat because they think they can/should convert me. I know not all Christians are like this, but MOST ARE.
My beliefs aren't stupid. I don't go up to a bunch of Christians and insist they stop believing in god, so why does it give them the right to try to call ME wrong? It doesn't give them that right.
I'm agnostic, because there are no concrete answers, and I believe that religion is a manifestation of fear.
I want real answers, and I don't want bible quotes, or people telling me that I'm going to hell, or that I can "still be saved". Give me some non-bullshit.

"An agnostic....oh, that simply means you're too scared to be an athiest."
That PISSES ME OFF. I am agnostic because I don't believe in religion. I never said anything about not believing in some type of god. My beliefs don't have anything to do with this question anyway, and I get very mad when people say that agnostics are just too scared to say that they're atheists. I am not an atheist, because I think that this world is too perfectly set up to just be a coincidence, and that there must be a higher power. Not necessarily a GOD, just SOMETHING.

And I think people who believe in god because they had a "near death experience" only believe in him/her/it because they're scared that they will actually die and want to have some kind of bullshit "protector" looking over them during their life, and want re-assurance that when they DO die, they will land a breezy spot in "Heaven".

Obviously your Christians do not know their bible. They would know by doing a word study in the Gospel of John for the words belief, believe, believer, and yes nonbeliever. At this point, you are not a believer.
For you I give you just one biblical quote 1 Cor 10:23-23 with emphasis on verse 24. It will give you focus about the Christian life. If verse 24 fails, then the person you are talking with does not know Christianity.
If you do not believe in the Christian bible as God's word as spoken by the prophets, then nothing available to you. At this point, you are an atheist (one without God) not an agnostic (one that does not know God). But before you accept a label, maybe you need to examine your own beliefs.
If you have the patience to search the Gospel of John, there is an answer to your question. However, the answer may not be one that you want.

I think a lot of modern Christianity is based on fear. Some people are afraid to think for themselves. They can't answer a question about God without spitting out something that they have heard before because they think it is the answer that a good Christian should have. I believe in God but sometimes church people are so stupid, close minded, afraid, and petty it makes me wonder how much of what I have been taught is really what God is concerned about. So much of it really is BS. The Christians that get in your face for having different beliefs have issues with their own faith so they over compensate for their fears by being the way you describe them. They talk a whole lot but you have heard it all before because there is no thinking involved on their part. I wish people of all beliefs would just be real and stop clinching in fear.

I couldn't agree with you more! I just answered someone in this same spirit:
__
"Do you think it is christian to call people stupid simply because they don't believe as you do? Is that what Jesus would have done? How about "Judge not, lest ye be judged?" Ever hear of that one? There is no way to know the Unknowable - while you seem to feel passionately about your belief, that doesn't automatically make you right. And by the time you know, it won't matter anymore.
So before you start name calling on a bunch of people you don't know, maybe you should stop and think "What would jesus do?" or at least "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"."
___
Peace to you my sister! We need to speak out and show our numbers. Enough already!

HEY! that's my nick name! my ex used to call me it all the time! awwe.. it's nice to know there's another person out there with the same like to the nick name! :)
awwe.. i like my nick name.. im a bit jealous of you! :)
OH, for your question.. people have a hard time with the thought that others dont care or believe in something as much as they do. in their mind it's a "given" and a known fact of what they believe.
I believe in spirituality.. but i would say im a far cry from christianity.. catholic.. anything organized like that)
I had to go real quick last time I was writing, so here's my real ending, and Im glad I waited. I agree with
rogue3xmen13. I have answered this god question before on yahoo answers, and my answer was pretty much the same as rogue3xmen13. EXCEPT, i believe all the prophets like buddha, mohammed, jesus, etc. were those people who had a higher understanding of the energy force in all things and knew how to describe it to certain cultures to help them understand the BEING of life.. the meaning.. the feeling behind it all.
blah blah blah.. I cant explain tonight.. I need to NOT think.. im getting outta the religious questions.. you guys really know how to rant! :)

Here is how I see it, some people believe in God and some do not. I cannot see God, but I can see what God does and I can feel the presence of God around me. Now, if a person does not believe in God, then they do not, it is okay. I did not believe in God at one time either, until I had a near death experience. People are different and Christians need to get over themselves about that. If you do not believe in God then that is okay. God to me is not Jesus, not Buddha, not Mohammad, not Ahura Mazda, not Zeus, not any of those people or names. God is energy, a force, a being. God has no true or real name. God is not male or female. God is just a being, just space.

Christians try to take over every thing, like T.V,Schools,And the law because they know most people are questioning Christianity and they don't want to lose their grip on society because they know that halve of the stuff in the bible is made up to produce fear so people will worship go, and now people are not believing god so they are trying to take people from other religions, but there is one religion that can't be taken over by Christianity satanism because we don't believe in sins so fear is not a problem and we won't be sucked in to the Christian religion.there that is not a quote i gave you the real answers. PEACE OUT Hail SATAN

Because there are many immature Christians. Just like their are immature atheists, or pagans, or _____________. (Enter belief system here.)
I can't begin to count how many questions I've seen in this forum that start by calling Christians either mentally deficient, sexual deviants, inbred, or whatever snide comment you can think of.
Personally, whether it be a Christian, or whomever, I am offended that honest discussion and/or debate doesn't occur. We have to wade through quite a lot of gunk to get to the real deal. Sometimes, I even have to put up with people using terms like "non-bulls**t."

An agnostic....oh, that simply means you're too scared to be an athiest. Here's the other REAL answer. Christians don't push anything down anyones throat.....everyone has choices. If you choose not to believe....fine, but why stop anyones right to freedom of speech. Why shove all the radical racial and homosexual garbage down my throat. Why have the religion of eveolution taught in school. YOU want it fair for everything, then get off you butt and make it fair for everything and get the hell off the backs of others that already know thier beliefs.

no, i don't think you honestly DO want real answers-from your post, it seems that you just wanted to rant and insult people who believe...otherwise you wouldn't be posting condescending junk like "i know not all Christians are like this but MOST ARE"...but you'll GET a real answer, just the same...
i can't speak for other Christians-that practice seems to be reserved for various atheist posts on this site...however, as for me, i agree 100% that you have the right to believe whatever you believe , or nothing at all, for that matter...but that does not mean i do not have the right to disagree with you, or to express my disagreement...as a practical matter, when you are on a site that is set up for Q&A on religion and spirituality and insist on not getting Bible quotes posted back to you, than i think there are some who WOULD question your intelligence... it's about like going to your family doctor and demanding that he not say anything about medicine...i mean, it's a free country and all, but it really makes me wonder WHY so many atheists are on this site...post all you want, you have as much rigtht to be on this site as anyone else...just wondering...

Well said. I firmly believe that the 5% of humans on the planet that DON'T believe in a God are raising their self-consciousness to a higher level. We seek the truth, no matter how hard it might be. The way I see it, knowledge is far better than ignorance.
